Great pond pump
The ShinMaywa is an awesome pump. I had to replace mine after 5 years of use. Since I lived in Colorado, I shut the pond down each fall and left the pump in for the deep freeze. I ordered and installed a new ShinMaywa this summer. It is a great pump and Amazon got it delivered on time! Waterfall height was 8'.

So far, so good!
The pump arrived on time, is quiet and has a good flow. It has only been a couple of weeks, so will have to see how it lasts. My average is about 5 years, fingers crossed this one is better. Especially since prices keep going up!

product failed after 11 months
This is my 2nd Shinmaywa 1/2 HP pump. First one last 5 years continuous operation, this one lasted 11 months before seals failed and pump shut down. 2 hours of research showed it has 2 year warranty...we'll see if I can get it replaced or repaired...otherwise I'm out $600. Quality of manufacturing has definitely gone down hill. Wish me luck.

Love the pump so far
Love the pump so far; however, where can you order the oil. So far can only get in 55 gallon drums.
