I love everything abut this book!
I've been watching GH my whole life and was excited to see that this book was available. It was a great read and really revealed lots of insight into Maurice's personal challenges around living with Bi-polar Disorder. Well done! Such a valuable resource for anyone who is affected by the struggles of living with mental illness.

Pure Truth
Am so grateful that Mr. Bernard put into words the truth of what he was experiencing then and now with Bipolar/depression.This disease is so fragile to each individual that is diagnosed with it.This book as well as the website "State of Mind" that Mr. Bernard shares with his guests opening up about Life experiences. It has helped me more than I canexpress regarding my own daughter. As a parent you struggle on normal level with the ups and downsfrom infancy to teenage, adulthood of your child then add depression/Bipolar into the mix, It is heart breaking to watch your child go through .. devastating. All I can say is THANK YOU.

This man is a Saint! How he has gotten thru his lifelong battle is nothing short of a miracle!
God Bless this man and his family. He has been to hell and back. A true story that touches everyone, especially those of us who have been down this road. I hope and pray that he continues much deserved success and happiness. A must read for everyone! We desperately need help for the world to be aware and more knowledgeable of all sorts of mental illness. Maurice Benard is a true Saint! I'm looking forward to his next book. 07/01/2021 I must add how amazing his wife and children have handled living with one who struggles daily with this devastating disease. Paula IS a true Super Woman. I admire such a strong wife...not many would have not only remained in a situation so difficult , let alone, have been so loyal and devoted. Its surely not an easy life! It just shows how true LOVE can conquer all......how special and beautiful!!! A true testament! May God Bless the entire incredible family and devoted friends as well. May HE keep you all safe and happy!P.S. to the person who commented on the typos and errors... My goodness, REALLY? So many lovely and well thought compliments from the readers..... Thank you, DeniseAnd I just love the dimples too....how could you not!

Living and fighting for a miracle every day
I've read other books on mental illness. I would rate this as the best one,it was so relatable. I've lived with depression and anxiety my whole life. Sometimes just getting up and getting through the day is a major accomplishment. I've accepted this as my life, I'm afraid that I can't help my daughter, who was diagnosed with bipolar 1 on the depressive side, I didn't know wben sbe was first diagnosed what a long journey it would be, and that I really wouldn't be able to help her very much. She is my priority, even though my husband also has bipolar disorder. Every day , I feel like I'm walking on eggshells figuring out their moods at the moment, being careful what I say. We've been to many dr.s and therapists. Haven't found the right help for my daughter yet. So I'll go one day at a time, and keep trying.

This book is a must read.
I have been a fan of Maurice Benard since he played Nico on All My Children. I have followed his career and of course love him as Sonny on General Hospital. When I started reading the book, I was surprised at his honesty and how frank he was about his journey to finally finding out he was bipolar. This is a must read not just if you are a fan. It will enlighten you and also educate you at the same time. It is rare that I give 5 stars to any book but this one deserves it.

Thrilling ups and downs
This book was great right from the first page. It is a story of a life full of ups and downs compiled with the author explaining about a disease which makes life full of ups and downs. Not really a bedtime story for the kids but it will leave you thrilled and more educated about what a person goes through sometimes even when they have not yet been diagnosed with anything and how to be more understanding and compassionate to other peoples situations even if you do not understand what's going on with them. It was an exciting read and it didn't take long to finish the book. If I were Siskel and Ebert, I would give it 2 thumbs up !!
