What is the micron or merv rating of this filter?

K&N has always been a bit cagey with these numbers, largely because they aren't flattering. I haven't seen a cabin air filter published with MERV, as you would see in household furnace filters., but if I had to guess it would be under MERV 5 As for micron rating, it will be lower than standard paper of fiber. Much lower. If you want the best filtration go with the OEM filter. If you want re-usability and basic filtering go with this one. I personally went with this and am pleased with it, but I know it won't filter as much small particulate.

Do you need to oil this filter or is it dry?

The filter is pre oiled and not dry. It’s not watery either. These KN filters have oil in them but does not make the area around where it sits oily. Hope this helps.
