Unity Game Development in 24 Hours, Sams Teach Yourself

A good tool for the toolbox
This book will serve as a good starting point for those looking to begin game development with Unity. A broad range of features are covered, and although I felt some sections could have been more fleshed out (like the chapters on scripting), in general, you can get a basic understanding of each topic. My biggest disappointment with this book had to do with the actual game projects. There are four of them, and while many might consider them adequate, I thought they could have utilized more of the material. I would have liked the projects to come at the end of the book, allowing for the opportunity to build relatively more complex games based on all the book's contents, as opposed to the smaller, intermittent projects that appeared throughout the book and only involved the application of a few ideas. All in all, this book can be a useful asset for those starting their game development journey with Unity, but I would strongly recommend it as one tool in a toolbox of other learning resources, rather than a one stop source for everything you need to build a foundational knowledge of Unity.

I think it's the best beginner book to learn Unity
If you're brand new or very inexperienced with Unity, this book is going to teach you all of the fundamentals. It's well-written, and you can't go wrong to start here!
