Lines to the Mountain Gods: Nazca and the Mysteries of Peru

My husband is enjoying the book. We both have long had an interest in this, so purchasing the book finally gave us both a broader picture of what we knew a little about, but wanted to know more. This book seems to cover it all, and Then some,... great purchase.

I found this very informative and accurate. Would highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in the somewhat unknown.

Very interesting history of the area, I don't believe the author's attempt to dispel rumors of alien involvement were very convincing!

Every page raises additional questions.

What I really wanted to know was more about the Nazca lines. What I got was quite a tome telling me about many aspects of Peruvian culture and various theories about the meaning of the lines. I'm sure the information I want is in the book somewhere, but it's a case of not being able to see the wood for the trees. Information overload. In a book of 307 pages, just 7 are devoted to the so-called "Beasts of Nazca" (what most people mean when they refer to the Nazca lines ). Of the many black and white photographs (mainly small) there are only 9 of the Nazca lines (also small). For me, a disappointing book (but it was a cheap buy) which won't find a home on my bookshelf.

A great book in as new condition. This was a present for my husband, he is extremely happy with it.
