I purchased this product to use up my scrap yarn to make hats and scarves for charity. I have a lot of experience with knitting and crochet. I read all the reviews before I bought this machine, and people said it came with minimal instructions, therefore I watched a whole bunch of YouTube videos. Casting off is difficult to do without losing stitches. One YouTube reviewer stated it best, if you think you are going to take this machine out of the box, put your yarn in and crank out a hat or scarf with no special skill, think again. I highly recommend anyone using this machine knit the first few rows and the last few rows with the waste yarn that comes with the machine. That way you don’t have tension issues at the beginning of your work and no dropped stitches at the end. I used 3 & 4 weight yarn with no problems (just regular acrylic yarn, but not curly or textured yarn) and didn’t have a single dropped stitch in the body of the work. When casting off directly from the machine, I found stitches want to pop off on their own - as I am removing one, the next one or two pop off causing dropped stitches. Using waste yarn solved that problem. But the machine arrived 2 days early, and has been very reliable, produces a nice consistent stockinette stitch. I have mine on a glass table top and the suction cups stick really well. I don’t have to hold it while cranking out stitches. I am very satisfied with mine. I gave it a 4 because I think it may be hard for beginners to use and the instructions are insufficient. Watch a YouTube video Tips and Tricks and several others. Not sure best way to hold on to machine while winding. Wish it was more sturdy/heavy. So easy to use, watched YouTube videos and made several headbands using caron yarn.

The counter does not work when I put the machine together so trying it was a pain trying to remember how many rows I had done. Had to order a digital counter to attach to this (seen on YouTube) seems like a lot of people have this same issue

This knits beanie hats and scarves quickly. But you are so limited on the yarns that will work. Most #3 yarn work but make light weight hats. Only a few brands of #4 yarn work. As a result I have a stash of yarn I bought to use on this machine that I can't use.

This came out of the box making a loud grinding sound that makes it impossible to use at all. It is so rough Turnjng the handle that you constantly drop stitches. And need six arms to hold it in place while attempting to crank the handle. Honestly save your money.

Great machine but counter does not work :(

stitches. Not Easy to work with.I have taken out the yarn and started over and over. Still not working right. 😕
