The Oster Sangerfield 5 QT Pasta Pot Set W/ lid, steamer insert, and strainer insert is an all-in-one cooking tool. The stainless-steel exterior and encapsulated aluminum base distribute heat evenly and are materials extremely easy to clean. This set does so much more than just cook pasta… use the pot to simmer soup, prepare pasta in the strainer insert, steam vegetables in the steamer, and so much more

Review: Excellent Yogurt Strainer - I was unimpressed with the purpose-built yogurt strainers available on desertcart. While I liked the micromesh screens, they just weren't large enough to strain a full gallon of milk. Plus, they're all plastic and I don't like putting food in contact with plastic. With a large piece of tight-weave organic cotton cheesecloth, this will hold and strain a gallon of yogurt quite nicely. Only once did I end up with enough whey to reach the bottom of the pasta strainer insert, so I had to dump out that batch of whey to continue straining the yogurt. Plus, it's not a unitasker. I can use it for other kitchen things besides just straining yogurt.

**Q: will this work on induction cook top**
A: This positively does NOT work on induction cook top!  It is not magnetic.  I still tested it and it does NOT work.  Nice pot otherwise.

**Q: What are the inner diameter for the steamer basket?**
A: 8 inches

**Q: Do the handles stay cool?**
A: No..  You still need oven mitts

**Q: What is "Encapsulated stainless steel base"?**
A: It means a layer or disc of aluminum is sandwiched between the steel, since stainless steel is a bad conductor of heat, your food would burn and stick to pan if the aluminum wasn't there.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars but Buyer's Remorse

Five stars because this is exactly as advertised and what I ordered. Unfortunately, it is just too small. As a single guy cooking for just myself I thought this small size would be ideal. However I struggled to cook a single portion of spaghetti in this pot. When the spaghetti starts to soften there is no room for the hard ends to fall into the pot. Also the spaghetti gets into the straining holes and gets stuck as the pasta swells. I think this pot would excel at pasta shapes, such as macaroni or ziti. But again, it will be smaller portions. I doubt you could successfully cook and entire box of macaroni. All that said, this pot is exactly as advertised, but just too small.
