Oster Sangerfield 5-Quart Stainless Steel Pasta Pot Set with Steamer Basket and Lid – Durable Kitchen Cookware for Boiling and Steaming

I was unimpressed with the purpose-built yogurt strainers available on Amazon. While I liked the micromesh screens, they just weren't large enough to strain a full gallon of milk. Plus, they're all plastic and I don't like putting food in contact with plastic. With a large piece of tight-weave organic cotton cheesecloth, this will hold and strain a gallon of yogurt quite nicely. Only once did I end up with enough whey to reach the bottom of the pasta strainer insert, so I had to dump out that batch of whey to continue straining the yogurt. Plus, it's not a unitasker. I can use it for other kitchen things besides just straining yogurt.

This is a great pot. It's a good size. It's very versatile because it includes the spaghetti insert and the steamer. It's easy to clean and use. It's a good weight. It's heavy enough to be stabile and sturdy and yet still light enough to handle with ease.

Five stars because this is exactly as advertised and what I ordered. Unfortunately, it is just too small. As a single guy cooking for just myself I thought this small size would be ideal. However I struggled to cook a single portion of spaghetti in this pot. When the spaghetti starts to soften there is no room for the hard ends to fall into the pot. Also the spaghetti gets into the straining holes and gets stuck as the pasta swells. I think this pot would excel at pasta shapes, such as macaroni or ziti. But again, it will be smaller portions. I doubt you could successfully cook and entire box of macaroni. All that said, this pot is exactly as advertised, but just too small.

I love this pot with the strainer pot and steamer basket I had one of these back in the late 90s or early 2000 don't know what happened to it and its the right size you'll like it

I've had this Oster pasta pot for several months now and have used it several times and I like its functionality a lot. There are several pros to this pot, but one glaring negative overrides any good about it. I'll start with the pros. 1. It's multifunctional! I can cook and drain pasta with just one pot. I can steam in this pot. I can easily mix pasta sauce in with my pasta in this pot. 2. The size, for the majority of my needs, is good. I set out looking for a pasta pot that wouldn't take up too much space. This fits the bill. Even with the inserts it has a small footprint. This could be a con if you're cooking large meals because this pot definitely can't handle that. 3. Lightweight. It's easy to pick up and move even when it's full. 4. The inserts themselves. As I mentioned before they stack very nicely. I love multifunctional kitchen items! Like AB says: No single use tools in the kitchen! I wholeheartedly agree! Now for the big con... After just a few months of using it it's rusting. The pot itself and the pasta drainer both have rust spots. Based on that one con alone I would not recommend this pot to anyone. Unless eating rust is your kind of thing!

Smaller than expected for the price

Good value. Light weight stainless steel. My only complaint is the basket size is a bit small. The top basket only sits 4" into the 6" bottom deep pot. There is 2" of wasted space at the bottom of the pot. That is less than a 3 quart pot. Good for small batches of pasta.

A pan that steams well and cooks my spaghetti to perfection. Very happy I bought this product. Highly recommend.

Love it, perfect size. A bit thin but exactly what I wanted. Handles get hot as they are metal with no protection.
