Best Natural Foundation I've Found
I'm on my second bottle of this foundation and I feel like it's been enough time for me to leave a decent review. I normally wear Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Foundation in Fairly Light Neutral (fair to light skin with yellow and pink undertones) and wanted to find a foundation that wasn't so full coverage. I am a daily make-up wearer and always have to have foundation on due to acne scares caused from the great and mighty birth control. I also have some redness in my cheeks. I emailed the company to figure out what color would be suit me and they recommended Nude. It matches my skin perfectly during the fall/winter months (I only get a very slight change in color during the summer, but enough to throw my foundation color off) and looks very seamless when applied with a beauty blender. I have been battling with my skin since I stopped taking birth control over 2 years ago and slowly but surely I have figured out what works and what won't irritate my skin. The first 3 or so times I applied this foundation it did not look good on my skin. I think my skin has to get used to it because after the first 3 times it starts looking flawless (I always apply all of my foundation the same way). I remember that happened in the beginning with the first bottle I bought. Both times I put it away and didn't use it for a couple of weeks. This is now my go-to foundation! My skin has started to calm down and some of my scars are starting to heal. I would describe the coverage as medium and is somewhat build-able. It covers regular pimples really well, but doesn't have the best coverage for deeper scars. I just use a little bit of concealer to help those spots blend in better. I normally use 2 pumps and that gives me good coverage over my whole face. I pack a little bit more on my problem areas and it doesn't end up looking cakey at all. I work 2 jobs and normally apply my makeup first thing in the morning and this stuff lasts great from 6am-11pm or 12am when I get home. It breaks down a little bit over the scar areas, but not too bad. I've applied with a foundation brush and definitely like it better with my beauty blender. It does have somewhat of a strong scent when first applied, but for me it dissipates throughout the day. People are describing the smell as vanilla or cotton candy and some people have said they think the scent is so strong because its covering up other ingredients in this product. The smell is shea butter (which is a main ingredient in the foundation) and has a 0 rating on the non-comedogenic rating. Which means it absolutely won't clog pores or cause breakouts. If you're smell sensitive, I would just move on from this stuff and find something else. It's not gonna work for you. Overall, I highly recommend giving this stuff a try. I haven't had a breakout yet and I've been steadily using it for 2 months now. The bottle will last you quite a while if you're conservative with the amount you pump. I could probably get away with only using one pump if I didn't have acne scars to cover. Quality products that really is all-natural and good for your skin!

Almost perfect!
I really like this foundation! I was looking for something to replace my fav Maybelline foundation when I finally saw the light and decided only to use cruelty-free and vegan beauty products. I think it works just as well as the age renewal stick from Maybelline, but smells better and is more ethical. Here are some pros and the one con (for my needs): pros: -matches my very pale skin (maybe just a hint darker than me, but not enough to be noticeable once fully applied) -silky finish. Some people don't like how liquid it is: you shouldn't apply it with your fingers, or it really won't work well. Use a sponge, or a brush (I use a foundation brush) and it goes on perfectly. - evens skin tone, covers minor blemishes, and hides tired eyes without looking like you are fully made-up (note: see con) - does give a nice dewy look in most lights -does not make me break out, even with daily wear -smells great!!! has a vanilla scent I adore (some people might not like that, but I really do) -Vegan, cruelty-free, and mostly organic!!! con: At the end of the day (think, when I'm home from work and about to remove all my make-up) I do notice it cakes just a tad in the smile lines around my mouth. A small dab of lotion fixes it, and I can only see it in my super-bright bathroom lights, but it does create a crease where I don't usually have any.

Lovely Foundation - The Best of its Kind
Wow! This foundation has easily become my favorite *ever.* To begin with, while it's not cheap (24.99) it certainly delivers on every promise made. The product is full ounce of liquid foundation. I chose the color 'nude' because I have very pale skin, and I was pleasantly surprised that it color-matched my shade precisely- no lines around the neck. Next, because the list of ingredients is so wonderfully naturally derived, (vegan, which is why I selected the foundation) it has a few beauty pluses that one would not find with a store-bought foundation. The aloe vera ingredient allows the skin to naturally heal. I have acne-scarred skin, and I have found that this foundation is miraculously appealing-- it does not irritate my skin, and on the contrary, it smooths over every bump with perfect aplomb, and the next day, my skin looks just a smidge better. Of course, I am also using Acure Brightening Scrub and coconut oil every day as well, and so I would suggest these two products in addition to yours if you have combination oily-dry skin that has acne scars. Additionally, the foundation smells *amazing*-- no chemical smell here. Rather, like thick, rich honeysuckle mingled with a few other flowers. Wow! I only wish that I could use this foundation to more appropriately spot match certain areas of my skin that are more red than others, (which is prevented by the pump) however this is a small error that can be improved with a better pump mechanism. I love this foundation. I hope it remains the same price, and that it is more available in department stores, makeup stores, etc, so others can receive it's beneficial properties.

A Conscious Product in a Nifty Bottle that does the Job!
I’m not one to write a review unless I’m pleasantly surprised by something new that I come across. That said, I’m a minimalist, esp when it comes to my clothes (a la Marie Kondo!) or my makeup regimen. I’ve been using Bare Minerals precisely for that reason, the same powder foundation since I was in college. But after some time now I needed an update, esp after becoming a new mom. I developed unsightly dark circles under my eyes from stress and sleepless nights; and I wanted to try something that wasn’t a powder but with the same minimal appeal (not cakey or “made up”), while doing a solid job of covering up my sun spots and dark circles. Then I came across EVXO organic liquid foundation in Desert Sand. Since I’ve already tried and loved the EVXO mascara, I wanted to give their foundation a try. Upon first impression, I loved the bottle...the quality wood handle with its nifty button dispenser makes it so cute and easy to apply to my face. I love the subtly fragrant smell of Shea butter and how smoothly it glides on. Most importantly i love how it works on my dark circles and brightens up my face without looking unnatural. The effect of the foundation on my skin is slightly matte with a dewy finish, minimizing uneven skin tone without looking too “made-up”. To top it off it’s brand ethos is environmentally conscious and animal cruelty free. I have to say that I’m super happy with my new purchase!

UPDATE Used bottle sent! PREVIOUS: Outstanding Job on Coloring
UPDATE: After years of buying this I got a used foundation this time around. I have messaged the company 3 times and was ignored all 3 times. I randomly get an email this morning saying they would love my feedback and to contact them if I have any issues. Well I did and was ignored 3 times. Not cool. Whoever is managing emails is doing a bad job. PREVIOUS REVIEW: It is beautiful on and I'm glad natural plant based makeup companies are stepping it up. It is also by far the best coloring for women of color that I've personally tried of at least half a dozen different natural or organic brands. It matches me right out of the bottle instead of me having to mix or add things in to not look red or gray. It is however excessively runny in my opinion to the point of needing to be careful when you pump it so that it doesn't just ooze down in the wrong direction. I haven't tried it with a primer yet since I am still searching for a good natural or organic plant based primer. But on it's own by the end of the day it does seem to wear off a bit. The coverage is light to medium. You can build to get a fullish' (yes I know that's not a word :)) coverage.

"Pearl" is nothing like "Nude"
While "nude" was a terrible color for a specific shade of foundation, it was a very good match for me in the original formula. Reviews said the new line's equivalent to that shade was "Pearl" - which sadly I have not found to be true. Pearl's pink undertones are much more pronounced and the shade is quite a bit darker; I used to wear "nude" in the winter, but after quite a bit of outdoors time I'm finding "pearl" to be too dark for me now in the summer. Sadly, because pearl was supposed to be the equivalent of my winter shade, I also bought the next shade up "Desert Sand" which I expected to be an even better match because it has more yellow undertones like I do. Nope. Still pink, and WAAAAYYYY too dark. I know this is nothing compared to shade matching problems folks of other skintones have, and I hate to complain, but I just want everyone reading the reviews to know that Pearl and Nude are nothing alike. If you were a fan of the old formula in that shade, there's no equivalent in the new line. Sorry, all.

good ingredients, strong smell, not lasting
After using the product for a week, I am still a bit on the fence as to whether I want to keep it. I have combination skin and was looking for mass market alternative "greener" type foundation, so I am pleased with the ingredients. For light to medium coverages the best application is achieved with a wet sponge (I used beauty blender). I like the texture, however, there is a number of things that keep putting me off: - strong sweet scent. I find it intoxicating during the application. it goes away rather quickly but I am not sure what the manufacturer was trying to mask with this.. - color. it is a on a pinkish side (shade: Pearl/Light) and does not seem to oxidize but I find it difficult to pair it nicely with any blush . I am normally neutral undertone. - lasting power. or rather lack of thereof... I tried with and without primers, with and without setting powders, etc. the maximum lasting effect is about 4 hrs, after which it starts getting patchy.. not a great deal for 8 hr work day+ commute time.. at the same time, if one needs a quick light cover-up for a shopping trip on a weekend, that could be a handy product..

Impressed and pleased
For taking the risk of ordering foundation online, I am very pleased with this product. My former foundation was also liquid and natural, but I felt like the weight was getting a bit heavy with my complexion problems (I have dermatitis), and the color was definitely more orangey/yellow than I needed particular for the winter time. I wanted to find something less expensive but still clean and natural. I am super impressed with the ingredients in this foundation; they're truly naturally-sourced. I feel really good about putting it on my problem-prone skin. The foundation itself is lightweight and goes on so nice and even. I actually use it under my eyes as concealer too since it is so lightweight and the coverage is great! I was amazed at how it covered my red, dry areas and left me with an even, powder-finish. I will say that by the end of the day, depending on what I'm doing, I may need to sparingly reapply on some of my problem areas. But I am super impressed all the same. My only con would be that I wish the pump could be more partially-pressed so that I can get a smaller amount. It can definitely be tricky to get just a little bit versus the full pump's worth. I was amazed that I got the color right on the first try. I went for Bisque. At first I was skeptical because it seemed so light when I started applying, but it actually left me with the perfect coloring. It's wintertime so I'm a bit paler with maybe some slight yellow undertones.
