Because the polycarbonate container has metal gears on the bottom, if the container doesnt dry properly/immediately, the container WILL rust. The blender itself is ok. Sometimes my smoothie recipes get stuck halfway during blending, but the same recipe works fine in a vitamix. Its also definetely not as quiet as the Vitamix "The Quiet One". I highly recommed the vitamix over this one.
