Metrix Premium Chassis Parts Control Arm Kit Fits Ford C-Max 13-17, Focus

Take this review with this caveat. Nothing is as important as how long it lasts and I don’t know that yet. These went on a 2017 Passat with a failed bushing. I’ve had really good luck with turkey manufactured metal items lately and for the price I decided these were worth the risk. The quality, metal weight, stamping, etc all were perfect matches visually for the OEM VW control arms. The fit was perfect and install was as easy as it could be. My impression is that for less than 1 of a brand that used to be great but has tumbled in quality since private equity got involved I got two with no additional risk. What I can’t tell you? How good are the components in the ball joints, how long will the rubber bushings last (always a potential weak point on control arms and mounts), how long that initial quality lasts. But three months in I’m happy and if I needed I set I would buy from this company again.

I have a 20 year old Mercedes ML500 and normally it’s my daily driver…until I had the unfortunate experience of an elk herd choosing to cross the road all around me on a dark, cloudy night. I survived and the vehicle did, too, but the damage was extensive. The insurance company did total the ML but they sold me what remained. I elected to put it back together and its restoration / rehabilitation started with the front end suspension. I went with certain Metrix Premium Chassis parts as an alternative to those of the OEM when the quality was identical or superior to the OEM offering. I’m glad I did. Not only did I receive European components made to the manufacturers specifications, but I saved money the whole way through. The Metrix front upper control arms with ball joints are very well made. Don’t let their specialty alloy feel fool you into believing they aren’t tough because they are. The materials are excellent and the fabrication is, too. Updating / Installation of any front suspension part on the ML isn’t for the faint of heart or the backyard mechanic that lacks the full complement of Mercedes centric tools. Without them in your garage, your probability of success goes down drastically. But I digress. The new control arms worked quite well and pairing the Metrix products with new Bilstein B3 OE front coil springs, new B1 strut tower mounts, and B6 front struts has made for a tremendous upgrade to the original suspension. The Metrix ball joints are exceptional in performance and the whole assembly provides better than OEM stability. The combination of components has restored the smooth Benz ride and improved control across our 6,000 plus miles of dirt and gravel roads…and the paved ones, too! The front upper control arms are reasonably priced considering the vehicle to which they attach (everything for a Mercedes has its own “unique” pricing oddities but after owning more than my fair share of their products, you develop a sense for the markup). Their performance exceeds that of the original suspension component they replaced. That’s an upgrade that delivers value. I would not hesitate to order their control arms again.

Installed on a 2007 Lexus RX350 and fit great! You do have to take the Motor Mounts off on each side to get to the front bolts for the Control Arm so you will have to jack the Motor up. Not the easiest Install for a beginner, but not impossible. I suggest just taking the Bolts/Nuts out of the lower part of the Front Motor Mount as it makes it easier. Rubber Bushings seemed like nice quality material. Good value for money with new Ball Joints as well. All parts seemed like good quality but only have limited mileage on them so far.

I put 4 stars because one of the joint boots was already off. I had to use the old one, luckily it was still good. Over all price is worth it.

These control arms work nice on my 07 honda civic.They look of good grade material and I installed them with no issues. They were exact oem component will buy from them again,Good product good price.
