E26/E27 to MR16 - Standard E26/E27 Edison Screw Base to MR16 Gu5.3 Base Adapter Holder Converter

I could only find 1 seller overseas that sold E26 to G8 socket adapters and decided not to wait a month to receive. I'll cut to the chase... these were close enough to where I was short center to center pin distance by just 1.5mm. To make these work for the G8 pins @ 8mm I removed the top thin insulation. Peeled off easily. I believe we're okay doing this, the new LED G8's fit snugly. It appears I have not compromised and safety issues, in fact not sure why the thin metalic like film is even there.

As soon as I turned the lamp on, the bulb blew and flames shot out the top. I thought maybe it was the lamp. I tried the adapter and bulb in a second lamp. No fire this time, but the bulb blew. This thing is a fire hazard!

Provided a simple method to convert porch light fixtures to operate on low voltage landscape lighting transformer.

Feels very rough when installing in a standard outlet, feels like it was manufactured slightly too large.

A friend gave me a nice street light style lamp I put in the back yard. I was not about to run 110v out there but with these I converted the lamp to run on low voltage lines by wiring it into existing landscape lighting and using LED landscape lights.

Excellent. Just what I needed and it works great with led lamps I have and using.

Works as intended.
