...so, here's the deal:i'm running a 2001 celica gt (basically: the back half of the damn thing is a huge glass hatch.)-yes, it's heavy from the factory (i also have the trunk-area inner cover-plate installed (it strings off the hatch) -and- have a 'factory' rear wing.--i bought these because the ones on the car (supposedly 'new') were not really holding the rear hatch up -especially- with the inner cover being used.-reading the reviews? i was hearing how they had 'so much 'punch' that the hatch was practically lifting itself -and- was 'difficult to close from the 'max-strength' of the pistons'.-that? ain't happenin' here....going out to install these? i found that i was replacing (already) the same items, just a year or so old...they -barely- hold the hatch up.-if- you are running a bigger spoiler or anything that is going to add weight to the hatch?i do not recommend.(as it is? mine keep the hatch up -only- at 'full up' -and any sort of breeze or pressure pulling it down? and the pistons of the struts are easily defeated, this thing drops with intent.)--i am curious as to the PSI of the struts -and- if there are 'super-maxi-pressure' struts made (by this or any other company).--especially if you're working with an inner deck-lid? (or any kind of wing?) you may still want to have a prop-stick on hand. (like: if you have a disney license-plate frame? better hope it has TinkerBelle on it, and nobody larger, 'cause that hatch is -not- staying up.)

They work super good they hold the trunk well. hey are so new that force the trunk down. I just need to brake into them. I recommend these if you have a spoiler

The end that has two bolts had the metal bent a little. It wasn't a big deal but my OCD hits and I had to bent it back straight but then I bent the strut itself. So I just gave up since I didn't want to end up damaging it completely. Other than that I mean...It works perfectly. The only question left is, How long will it last? I have a stock original spoiler so it won't be as heavy as having the TRD wing but it works just fine,TIP: when you close the trunk don't let it go. It will slam a little. The slam isn't aggressive so no biggie. Sooo just give it a small hand and then it closes smoothly.TIP: Unscrew the piece that that you put the 2 bolts to adjust the other end to connect to the ball joint.

They were easy to install, fit perfectly, and work just like the originals on my Celica GTS (2000).
