I am looming for something to store my ice in that will hold up to pounding the large chunck in to cubes again. Zip lock bags shred... ugh!

They might, but I wouldn't do it. They are pretty tough and thick, not sure . Maybe if you laid a towel or something over the bag before you pound it.

I would not. I put it in the top rack or handwash it
