Not bad for the money
I've always had a love-hate thing with compressors, but usually use one to even out and fatten my sound. I only use a tad, not going for the squashed Tele Nashville sound. I go for a bluesy Strat kind of sound. I have never found a compressor that doesn't color the sound, and this one is no exception, but the mix knob allows me to get the original signal along with the compressed, and seems to be a decent compromise. I'm running the Mix at 12 o'clock, Comp at 10 o'clock, and the Attack at 7 o'clock. First in the chain, always on. My main reason for buying this one is that it is the only one at this price point with a mix knob, and I don't really want to shell out 200 dollars for a boutique pedal. The cover over the knobs is a nice feature, given this is not something I would tweak on the fly. I would actually have preferred a full size pedal, especially if I was going to hit the button a lot; it just doesn't feel stable (mounted to my board with velcro). I play bars, and would hate to have to punch this button much on a dark stage. The other complaint is the jacks don't seem to grip the cables (unless I use the Planet Wave compression type cables), they have worked so far, but I would like a more reassuring click, especially if I was kicking this thing around.

Very useful, clean
Very useful, clean, versatile, and transparent compression at a bargain price. I use one in my main rig for a sustain boost for some of my tones, and it functions quite well. My only objection is that the noisy switch sometimes didn't work properly when I first got it, but the problem seemed to get better as I used it more, so I didn't send it back. I may ultimately regret saying that, but for the time being, the compressor is serving its function in a signal chain with some really nice boutique pedals. Would be nice if the switch were quieter, especially in the studio.

Got the wrong pedal
I got a Ironman Mini Space Reverb. I would like to believe it was a mistake but there is a label saying its the pipebomb on the back. But the reverb was something i was looking to buy so it worked out.

Great product!
I love this pedal. It is clean and clear. I've not noticed any hiss or distortion from this peal being in my effects chain. It does a great job of boosting the volume of the guitar without introducing any form of hiss or background noise. The only gripe I have with this product and all other Joyo pedals is their choice of switch. When toggling the pedal on and off, there is an evident click. This makes it easy to feel (and hear) when the pedal has been toggeled. Its personal preference but I prefer smooth non-clicking switches like those found in tcelectronics pedals. Other than this, I would recommend this pedal to anyone looking for a budget friendly compressor.

Overall great concept, I really like the ergonomics of this pedal. The mix feature is also a nice feature that you don't find on too many compressors. The problem is that there is a faint but audible background distortion that I am not able to eliminate from the signal. I made sure that it was not caused by other equipment by just plugging it in straight into my board. I did the same with my other compressor at exact same gain, and the distortion want away. I can somehow mitigate the issue by keeping the guitar volume slightly turned down and also keeping the compressor level down, but I should not have to do that. It is disappointing, since I like everything else about it. Another thing is that how does one get Joyo pedals repaired? I sent email to them while back but no response so far.

Sweet pedal buy joyo
Sweet pedal buy joyo. Allows you to dial in different tones without reducing quality of sound and saves space on a pedal board

I don't know if I REALLY needed this
Well, compressors are subtle. I don't know if I REALLY needed this. But it makes me feel better and for what it is I think it's probably a good one. I like the mix/blend knob on this, to just back up your main signal a little on quieter touches. Overall you could make it sound bad, boxy and squashed if you crank it, or keep it subtle, middle settings, where you're not really sure if it's doing much but probably is haha. All these mini Joyos are really nicely designed, compact AF and this one tucks away on the pedalboard left on 100% for me. Try it for yourself if you're intrigued or leave it and save your money, I mean I could dispense with it and still play and sound just fine, but it didn't cost too much and I wanted to experiment

Fine as a set and forget kind of pedal
I'm using this to give a little extra sustain to a ukulele and to smooth out some mandola playing. So, it's sitting at the front of my signal chain. It handles piezo pickups very well and there seems to be very little noise boosting. Sizewise, this thing is pretty much perfect and although small enough to sit on my crowded pedal board, it's reassuringly solid. Plus points for the mix control and the handy flip cover. Loses a star because the writing on the controls is invisible in low light which means I'll have to learn which dial does what. Perhaps it's meant to be a set and forget kind of pedal, but that's not going to work if you're changing instruments.

Great quality with less money.
Very good compressor for guitar or bass, transparent with the clean parallel signal mix in. Can be used as a clean boost as well.

Neat ... but...Noisy and thin sounding
I really wanted to like this little solid feeling piece of gear... but unfortunately it only took me 5 minutes to determine it wouldn’t be up to the standard I am looking for in a compressor. I was sold on the ability to blend the clean signal, a feature I use a lot on my main board Wampler Ego, but the apparent noise and thin sound would be a distraction I couldn’t live with. Probably have to buy a mini Ego...

Great sustain
Very good quality compressor and great value. Particularly good sustain and a big sound with no loss of tone or signal. Well made and your setting are protected. Five stars.
