Why did you pick this product vs others?: Works as expected. I cannot find this around me and was glad to find it here.

The bag contain little crystals. By adding water you have soft bigger crystals. If you have hanging baskets that dry out quickly, this is the cure. The crystals hold moisture but eventually dry out. May be added to your container dry or wet as you are potting your flowers. I use them for the making cloth tubes for around your neck when it's hot. When not in use, placing in the refrigerator in a ziploc bag with some water creates a cool tube for use later. It's a good product. Lots of bang for the buck.

Easy to use and helps keep plants happy

This product contains some fertilizer, but mainly water absorbing granules. Don't use too much! Each crystal absorbs water and enlarges up to 30 times in volume. I use barely a pinch sprinkled in the bottom of my furrows, then push dirt over the crystals and place my plants atop that and cover the roots or seeds with additional soil. If you use more than a pinch, you'll have water globules pushing up out of the soil like water balloons! This product is excellent for soil that becomes dry and dusty at depths of over 4 inches. The granules will hold water in the bottom of the furrows and allow your roots to go deep & pick up needed micro-nutrients. I have a Degree in Agriculture from Penn State University.
