Exact fit for less money, YES!
Works perfectly with EARLY Smittybilt XRC winches. Pulled it out of the box plugged it in and it worked flawlessly. I do honest reviews and rarely give 5 stars to items but this one deserves it. Was notified that it was no longer available from Smittybilt and I've searched the web for over a month and a half. The day after I ordered it I received a notification from Smittybilt that it was now available and I don't care because I found a comparable one for less money.

I bought a used Jeep with Smittybilt X20 10,000 winch but no controller. This controller plugged into the 5 pin plug and works great.

Perfect solution for my Smittybilt XRC 9500 winch
I bought this Bulldog Winch 20289 Winch Controller for my Smittybilt XRC 9500 winch. BACKGROUND: I recently bought a used Jeep that had the winch already installed, but did not have a controller for the winch. I tried the Smittybilt website, and it was just too complex to figure out exactly which winch controller to buy. So I looked on Amazon, and read several reviews for this controller which led me to conclude that it would PROBABLY work with my winch. After checking the return policy, I knew I would be better off buying this Bulldog Controller. So I did. CONCLUSION: The Bulldog controller shipped promptly, and I couldn't wait to plug it up tp my winch to see if it would work. Well - It fits my winch and operates perfectly. I am very happy with the whole experience.

Broke quick
Reverse failed (in) and left me hanging with rope out. When I disconnected the pins fell out.

Controller works for smittybilt gen 2 X20
I have a smittybilt gen 2 X20 and on their website u cant order the controller its out of stock but this one fits it perfectly no problem just plug and play really good value I recommend for anyone looking for a controller for there winch
