***** 2 ยฝ Month Review - This is no โRubber Boatโ This is Kayak is an excellent investment. We have been using this for about 2 ยฝ months now. It came to our door in about 4 days time. It was packed very well and unpacked easily. It included the 370 Kayak, very large and good quality Sea Eagle canvas duffle bag, 2 paddles that break down to 4 pieces each per paddle (2 paddle ends, 2 poles make 1 paddle and there are 2 complete paddles), 1 lightweight but sturdy foot pump complete with hose and adapters (this pumps a very large amount of air in a very short amount of time), a repair kit, and a gauge to measure the air pressure. The gauge is a clear piece of plastic that simply measures against the markings on the inflatable tubes of the craft. It is real simple to use. The material is a tough PVC that can take a lot of abuse and cleans up nicely. ** Tip, we ran the repair kit string through it so it doesnโt get lost and is easy to find. ***** Sea Eagle 370 Kayak First we empty the Duffle bag and Gym bag, we break it up and place the Kayak and Paddle poles in the Sea Eagle canvas duffle bag, and place the Paddle ends, foot pump, and Measuring device in a regular Gym bag. The Gym bag is light enough for 1 person to carry along with the 2 seats, while the other one pulls the heavier Sea Eagle bag on out folding cart. (Thatโs just how we do it, it is nice and easy that way) This Kayak sets up and tears down like a dream, partly due to their use of special valves that install and un-install with finger pressure. Easy enough that my 9 year old granddaughter not only can do it but has done it now multiple times. They are a large diameter and the only hard thing was getting their retainer loops around the Boat sockets. If you have weak fingers, you may need help initially installing them, but once they are on, they stay on and you donโt need to worry about them again. Setting up is as easy as rolling the Kayak out, Place the inflatable Skeg covers (Skegs are the 2 bottom fins for tracking) in place to protect them, then threading the valves in, then inserting the hose to each tube, one at a time, and using the foot-pump to pump in the air. This is done surprisingly quickly, and then capping off the valves by just screwing on the caps. I get a lot of interested people who watch us and are amazed that we are able to have a 12 ยฝ foot Kayak in a bag. And once close up, they too are amazed at the quality of this. You start with the bottom, then do the 2 sides, taking the measuring tool to get the right amount of air in them, then you inflate the front and back end caps which firm up the Kayak. ***** Seats Next are the Seats, you simply place them in the Kayak in the desired places, easy as pie. The Pro package we ordered came with the Pro Seats. They are of a good quality and are covered in a canvas which not only protects them and adds stability, but also make a neutral temperature to sit on, so if the sun is blazing, and you are out of the boat on shore or swimming, when you get back in, the seat is not scorching hot, and the opposite goes if it is cold. You can put the seats in anyplace in the Kayak to adjust for amount of space you need. I would recommend getting the Pro Package for the extra, it is worth it. Next we take the Skeg covers off, put them in back of the kayak, place the Kayak in the water and tie it off. Then while one person watches the Kayak, the other takes back the bags, pump, and cart to the car and locks it up. Then we are ready to go. As detailed as this may sound, after a few times, this team work only takes about 15 minutes from car trunk, to getting into the Kayak. ***** Paddles We jump in the Kayak and are off to fun : ) The Paddles are light weight and strong, and break down to 4 pieces per paddle. All the pieces do float, so if one rolls off the pier while assembling, it wonโt sink. They are easily put together, and they give you 3 positions to adjust for your paddling, we just use the center position. My 9 year old granddaughterโs 1st job when we start putting it up, it to assemble the Paddles, takes her less time than it does for me to roll out the Kayak and set the inflation valves. ***** Useage As for using the Kayak, it handles very well, I am about 5โ7โ 195#, and Grand daughter is about 4โ and 85#. I sit in the back and place her seat about 2/3 the way up the kayak, and that seems to work well for us, giving me good leg room and her too. We synchronize our paddling and can make good speed. However when it is windy and waves are a bit high, I can see where a hard body Kayak would be better as the Sea Eagle has a larger profile for the wind and waves to fight. I bought this mainly to provide a healthy and fun way to work off some of my mid-section, and Kayaking defiantly does work your mid section, you can feel the burn. By summerโs end I should be at my weight goal. It is easy to paddle and can go pretty quick, plus it handles the large Boat swells much better than a Hard Kayak, as it is flexible enough to roll with the waves, whereas the hard Body Kayaks I see,, the waves will sometimes wash over them. I can visualize many years of use with this and cannot recommend it enough.

Perfect and met our needs!
My husband and I were talking about getting a kayak for a couple years. The only problem was that two hard bodied ones are too expensive and so are the two seated ones as well. Furthermore, having to get a rack for our cars was a bit of a turnoff. After kayaking in Moab in a inflatable kayak, it gave us the idea that perhaps an inflatable one was our best option and we started looking around for one. We were thrilled to come across the Sea Eagle. We loved the quality, the ease of transport, the ease of putting it together and we especially loved the price. We got the pro package because of the better seats and we're glad. As others have mentioned, the toughest part is the initial job of fitting the rubber rings on each of the valves. This is a two-person job, but not as bad as we expected. One person puts the rubber ring on as much as they could and holds it on while the second person pulls the ring the rest of the way over the valve. Once it's on, it never has to be done again. It took us around 20 minutes to blow it up the first time. We weren't sure what we were doing and of course we were a bit nervous. After the first time, it takes us about ten minutes to inflate and literally one minute to deflate. It's honestly a snap to do! My husband had wanted to purchase an electric pump instead of relying on the foot pump included, but I told him that others swear that the foot pump is all that's needed and they're right. It's amazing how much air gets pumped into the boat with just one push of the foot. You do NOT need another pump! We had some concerns about the comfort of seats which are blown up. They're quite comfortable. I can't speak for the regular seats, but the pro seats are well formed with good back and rear-end support. When doing our research, we weren't sure if we should get the 370 or the smaller sized one. We wanted a kayak that gave us a decent amount of room, but was still manageable to be rowed by one person if we wanted. My husband is 6 foot and I'm 5'6" and the 370 is perfect. It gives us plenty of room for our legs, plus for our stuff, but is still small enough to be used by only one of us. If you're looking for a two-man kayak, get the 370. The 340 would be too cramped, I believe. One thing should be noted: You do tend to sit up a bit higher than you would in a hard shelled kayak. Letting out some of the air in the seats would bring you down lower, but we're fine with the higher seating and enjoy the firm support. We've taken the kayak on a calm lake with little breeze, on a lake with a little bit of wind as well as on a river that started off calm and became a bit windy and had some small rapids from time to time. It performed well in all instances! Would it be great in a high wind situation? Probably not, but a light wind didn't cause any issues for us. Does it move through the water as easily as a hard body kayak? Not quite, but it does move through the water easily and doesn't take away from the experience. For someone who's looking for a kayak that can be thrown into a car easily, doesn't cost a small fortune and that is well made and tough, this is the kayak for you. Others are just as impressed as we are. There isn't a time when we take it out that at least one or two people come over to us to ask questions about it.

Living the dream.
Got this Kayak for a few reasons: It is inflatable (I live in an apartment and a hard kayak is not an option), and it was in my price range, and I liked what the reviews had to say. Got a chance to try it out today... I might have rated it with five stars, but I only tested it in smooth water and I'm not an experienced kayaker, so hesitated to give it all the stars without actually knowing how to put it thorough all it's paces. However, I can say I'm very happy with it so far!! Stability - It was very stable, even getting and getting out, and bear in mind that I am neither graceful, or in shape, or (ahem) remotely slim. Handling - It handled really well. Bear in mind, we were in a lake, on relatively smooth water but we could easily manuver it with either one or two people paddling, and could do intricate turns (even with two inexperienced paddlers) around buoys and the like. Wind: We had some wind, but not a lot... however, I can see that if it was windy, the handling might become more of a challenge. Ease of inflation - Cannot be easier. The foot pump works great; the hardest part was installing the one-way valves to start with. Ease of deflation: Could not be easier. Unscrew the valve tops, and it pretty much does most of the work. Very fast. Ease of getting back in the bag - at this moment, unknown. I have the kayak drying in my tub, and need to clean it off (got some sand and crud in it) before repacking it. However, I don't think it's going to be a problem. Paddles - again, I'm not an experienced kayaker, so someone with a lot of expertise might have a different opinion, but I like the paddles better than the one-piece ones I learned on. The nice part is that you can sort of rotate the angles of the blades merely by adjusting which hole the locking mechanism in the middle of the paddle is in - so you can adjust the angles to be straight (middle hole) or 45 degrees either way by moving to one of the other two holes. (They are a four-part paddle, so there's two paddle ends, and two bits that make up the length of the paddle, the adjustment is where those two pieces snap together). All in all, am thrilled so far. Stable, easy to handle, easy to paddle, easy to inflate, easy to deflate, and FUN. Good bang for my buck. The whole goal here for me was to get something I could use by myself or with someone else to cruise around lakes... most specifically some Montana lakes in a couple years when I get to go back "home" for a celebration. This kayak will make that dream happen.

Excellent value and convenience
I bought a Sea Eagle 370 package as an intro to kayaking for my wife and I. We have been extremely impressed with this boat and highly recommend it to anyone who wants an easy intro to the sport or to a more experienced paddler who wants the convenience of an inflatable. Durability: Over the last 2 months we have stuck to flatwater areas in Western NY. We haven't hit up any rapids (and probably won't for a long time). Some places that we have gone to are Mendon Ponds, Genesee River, Oak Orchard Creek, Canadice Lake and Putnam Pond in the Adirondacks. We have dragged the boat unintentionally over submerged branches and rocks, landed roughly on rocky shores with absolutely no mishaps. The scariest moment was in the Adirondacks where we ran aground on some submerged rocks while going full speed. No damage! I'm gaining more and more confidence with taking this boat out on the water mostly anywhere. Performance: I have found the performance of the boat to be perfectly acceptable. Let's be honest folks, this isn't a hard plastic kayak (which I've rented) that cuts the water like a knife. It's an inflatable. The difference in the profile is like comparing a cow with a horse. With that said, once you get going, you can get moving at a decent clip. We have clocked speeds of 5 mph (per GPS) at times. I've also found that proper paddling technique helps with the tracking issue (moving in a straight line). We were able to keep the kayak moving in a straight line in 20mph winds while towing a smaller inflatable behind us in the Adirondacks. I've also found it VERY easy to paddle solo. The boat also hauls a good amount of gear, we went camping to a boat only site and we had 400 pounds between the two of us plus 20 pounds of gear between us and a couple of bags strapped to the bow and stern. The boat was marginally more sluggish but nothing like what I expected, add the 20 mph cross winds and the performance was more than I could have asked for. Convenience: From when I pull out the bag from the trunk to putting into the water is about 10 minutes. I replaced the included pump with an Intex Double Quick pump. Just didn't like the foot bellows pump. I also tried an electric pump but found that it really wasn't necessary. The boat is a little heavy, the bag with everything in it is at least 40 pounds but as long as you aren't hauling it far it's not a big deal. It's still pretty amazing that I can pull a 12 foot kayak out of the trunk of a compact car. I do have to say that the carry bag, while very sturdy, is difficult to carry. A double strap like a knapsack would make it easier to haul. Cons: The seats in the low end package are ok if you sit in the back of the boat because you can lean it against the rear spray skirt. But they give lousy back support when you are in the front or middle. The lack of back support is probably my biggest complaint. I also would like some tie down points along the sides for attaching ropes or D- rings. The only attachment points are on the ends where the spray skirts attach. Final Thoughts: I'm extremely happy with my purchase. I was lucky to snatch this up on sale on Amazon for $225 shipped but even at the higher price points I would have been satisfied. This is a well engineered and well built boat for a great price and it can open up a whole new line of activities that may not have been available to you due to cost or ability to trasport. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the 370 to anyone and I can say we are planning several major trips for next summer. Addendum (6/10/13): I've continued to be very pleased with this purchase. I think I've gotten my moneys worth and then some. I've taken this boat into ponds, lakes and rivers and haven't had a single mishap. Now, after having paddled it quite a few times, a few comments. This paddles and feels more like a canoe than a kayak. Nothing wrong with that, its super stable in the water. Think of it as a double paddle canoe instead of a kayak and you'll have a better idea of what it feels like in the water. The boat does WAY better when its loaded with people and gear, the tracking is much improved and it becomes even more stable. It still can be paddled comfortably with one person (I've done this quite a few times) but it becomes more susceptible to getting blown around by strong wind. I've also glued on some D-rings towards the middle and use a seat that clips on when I'm solo for more comfort. One last note on durability: I've run this boat onto rocks, have hit submerged rocks, have run aground on rocks (from going at a pretty good clip to completely stopped in 2 seconds), have run over submerged branches and reeds, have beached on everything from sand to gravel and rocks (of course), have hit docks and pylons and have not had not a single puncture. Not one. In fact all I've had up to this point is a few stains from all of the bumping around that have scrubbed right out. When I'm in this boat I don't worry about a thing. Addendum 7/30/16: Still going strong! This thing is a beast. At this point one of the seats has a slow leak as well as one of the spray skirts. Honestly, I haven't really bothered to track them down and repair them since they aren't essential items. Other than that, no issues. Yes, its barge like in the water but it fits in the trunk of my Honda fit, I can blow it up in less than 10 minutes and be on the water. A quick wipe down, 10 minutes to deflate and roll it up and I'm on my way. I've more than got my moneys worth, I'm actually looking to upgrade to one of the nicer models. BTW, I've trued other brands, one intex had a removable skeg that got lost after the 3rd trip, another sprung a leak around a valve seam, another got holed the 1st day. So sea eagle has been the champ in durability too.

What a Hoot!
We just got this yesterday and of course, we pumped it up in the living room to test it. It was a little tedious to figure out what went where because we didn't know what we were doing but we just kept looking at the directions. It was much bigger and more comfortable than we expected. In the house it looked positively skinny where you have to put your butt, but when you sit it in it kind of comforms to your shape. I am not "little".. I am about 5'1" and 170 pounds and I was fine. I also put my 2 kids in with me... one weighs 105 the other 67 pounds. There is a little overlapping of feet, but not too cramped. I was very impressed with the thickness of the material it is made of and the workmanship. It was much bigger and nicer than I expected. So today we took it to the lake for a test. Now that we knew what to do my 9 year old basically set it up and pumped it up in about 8 minutes by herself. My husband (5'10" 170 pounds) and the above mentioned 2 kids (342 pound total) took it out. What a hoot! I honestly kind of expected it to tip or sink and then have to pack it up and send it back to Amazon, but WOW!... it was amazing. It tracked straight and went pretty fast... although the lake was very calm when we were there. We have only been kayaking twice (and that was only for an hour each time), so we are not experts but my husband said it felt no different than the hardsided kayak he had used before. If there were a wind I guess it would have been harder, but he was amazed at the performance. I think the double skegs on the bottom really help, because other brands that don't have the skegs seem to have alot of poor performance reviews, but that is just my opinion. Then my husband let my kids do it alone (just the 2 of them) and they did great! They didn't go far, but they were able to handle it and maneuver it well. It was a little bit of a pain to try to dry it off enough (we went late in the day so we couldn't let it air dry), and you have to get into the nooks and crannies.. but we did what we could and when we got home we pumped it up in the basement near the dehumidifier so hopefully it will finish drying it off. Once you know what you are doing, it only takes a few minutes to pump it up. I did alot of research before I made this purchase, and it seemed that this was the best for the money... and I am very happy. I actually was thinking of the Sea Eagle 330 and was about to buy it when I checked the prices and the 370 was actually $25 less than the 330 that day (and $75-125 less than the 370 had been a few days before). Now I see the price has gone up again, but keep checking as the price seems to fluctuate. (I actually paid $224 for the 370 about a week ago) So if the convenience of not having to cart it, store it, carry it, like a hard sided one (not to mention paying more) appeals to you... give it a try... I was more than pleasantly surprised. And thank you to all the other reviewers that helped me make this decision! 9/2/12 We took it out again to the same lake and had even more fun with it. My husband and the 2 kids decided to try to get to the other side of the lake. It had taken about 25 minutes in the hard sided kayak, so I waited about 5 or 6 minutes before I got in the car and went to meet them on the other side of the lake. I couldn't see them so I prepared to sit and wait in the car. Next thing I knew my kids were knocking on the window of the car... THEY HAD MADE IT BEFORE ME! My husband said it seemed to move quicker than the hard sided one he had used before. Also we had people watching us pump it up. One person came to talk to us about it and said he was going to get one based on what he saw with ours and the fact that even the kids could handle it. Still really happy with the purchase. BUT, although the bag is big, it is heavy and the kayak and pump, etc do add up to more weight than I want to handle... so I am getting a tub with wheels on it so I can drag it to the water easier. 8/24/13 Still Happy!~ Working great! No problems! I am not that strong, so I bought a garbage can on wheels to store it in. I can pull it out of the van and wheel it to the lake. Dry it when done and wheel it to the car and into the storage area at home. No problems, no mold, still good as new! BTW, drying it is much easier IF you dump the water out of the self bailing plug in the end (which I just noticed! Duh!)

A BIG disappointment
My husband and I are traditional Kayakers and have owned 2 "Hard " tandem kayaks which we love.We always wondered about the Sea Eagle brand of inflatables.I noted that many stores had put the 330 and 370 on sale on-line but we called all of them and no one had a kayak that we could "See and sit in" at any locations. Knowing how good Amazon is at returns and customer satisfaction, we bought the 370. It arrived a few days ago and the box was so heavy, I wondered how this was going to be "easier for us. I was impressed with the paddles and the foot pump and first tried to blow up the "PRO" seats that were supposed to be so much better than the deluxe(usually $100.more) They were much smaller than I had imagined and there is not way to attach them to the kayak. A good stiff wind could blow them away and they move around at will in the Kayak, but they seemed comfortable. The boat is much heavier than I thought. We imagined hiking into difficult locations to kayak, but the 370 is very heavy unless you are young and in shape, and considering all the other gear one would need, paddles, pump, ect, this would be a hard sell for us.I proceeded to roll out the boat in our garage and attached the valves. The valves are tricky to get on and the ones in the kayak are in a foolish, hard to get to, place. All three together right in the front, at angles that make it hard to get the pump into. Why they did not put them on the sides or the top where one could easily get to is beyond me. But I inflated the boat in a short time with the foot pump. Then I realized that this kind of big, klutzy pump would have to ride with us wherever we went in case of accidental deflation. There is clear plastic gauge( a thin easily lost piece of plastic)that one holds up to the boat to check for inflation. Seems like a good idea but should somehow be attached to the boat permanently as it is pretty important and I lost it three times in the garage. The spray skirts on the bow and stern have their own valves. Seems dumb, fiddling with 2 extra valves for that. Anyhow, the boat looked awesome and we sat in it and had a lot of room and felt pretty comfortable.Couldn't wait for the weekend to get it into the water. The next morning, the right side of the Kayak and both seats were deflated. Read the directions and checked the valves as they suggest, re-inflated the kayak. A few hours later the same side was deflating again. I cannot put my life on the line using this line of products. I guess this Kayak would be fine for a lakeside camp where people are in bathing suits and are very near the shore. For any serious Kayakers, I wouldn't recommend this Kayak. It seems like an accident waiting to happen. I just called Amazon and this Item is going back Pronto.

Pros/Cons
Pros: easily transported, lots of room, easy to inflate, great in calm seas! Cons: The reason for only 3 stars - as others have mentioned, the seats that come with this package are not good, most particularly for the middle seat. There is no support to keep it upright, and I had to keep my feet on the back of the seat to keep my husband from falling back. Uncomfortable, awkward, and by the time we got back to shore, painful. Using the seat in the back works ok, because you can lean it against the boat back, but the stronger, more stable deluxe seats would make it much more comfortable. In order for us to use the kayak, we had to order the deluxe inflatable seat to use in the center of the kayak for another $50. Why the flimsy seats that are included would even be a part of any model is beyond me. It was frustrating to say the least. Recommendations: With the addition of a deluxe inflatable seat, the kayak was good, and we used it often to explore the Fl Keys. It did not fare well in high winds, or when we tried to paddle against the tide, but, live and learn. It was great to paddle around the mangroves, and in the bays. If youโre thinking about this model, save yourself the trouble and order the next level up where the useable seats are part of the package.

Won me over, took everything thrown at it.
First I'll say, I was planning on returning this boat as soon as it arrived. I bought this for the whitewater rating, but the more I looked at the pictures the more I hated it and wasn't excited. I didn't like the all white styling, the bubbly spray skirts, the shape of the hull, and the thing that bugged me the most is the pictures made it look like an over built pool float compared to other respectable looking inflatable yaks and rafts. I also got sucked down the review rabbit hole and put alot of weight into the 7% or so bad reviews. I hated it so much I bought a cooler looking boat in the same price range before this sea eagle arrived. Well when I got it, I found I wasn't able to return it to Amazon. I should have looked at the return policy. So instead I gave it a chance before putting it on craigslist. I inflated it up and left it sit over night the day it arrived. Unlike the bad reviews, this thing held air great. I was still skeptical, but it felt solid still when I checked it the next day. My friend and I decided to bring our kayaks to a local river with class 2 and 3 rapids right off the start. I figured if I'm going to pop this thing, I'm going to pop it as close to a boat launch as possible. We kayaked down river for 8 hours and despite being terrified every bump and scrape would do my boat in for the first half of the journey the SeaEagle handled everything thrown at it. I got hung up on shallow rocks many times. At one point while hung up in some rapids our kayaks collided, taking the hit from her hard sided kayaks bow broadside. Despite feeling very tippy when I first got in, this thing never capsized. Despite the reviews about light use causing leaks, by the end of the voyage, it lost no more air than you would expect from temperature change of the water. It does get blown around a bit if you're not paddling, but overall this is a really great craft. It's much more stable than I would have given it credit for my first sit in it. The upgraded seats did great and were comfortable, staying inflated the entire journey. People complained about it being too narrow. I assure you, if you are a normal sized human, you will be fine, and comfy. I had plenty of room too to bring enough snacks to feed everyone on the river. We joked that I could be the river merchant. At the end of the voyage, I looked at my friend and said "This is one of the best purchases I have ever made." One thing to note, if you get the longer 12ft 2 person yak, you may need a boating license. I did and never expected that. Check your states requirements.
