NC Star Small Utility Pouch, Urban Gray

I see this as an improved Maxpedition M1 waistpack. It shares the same overall dimensions, without the expandable front pocket and stupid plastic buckle that is a hassle to use, and breaks off as soon as you brush up against something. It is durable and well made, and costs less than half the price. Great choice of colors too.

Very surprised. I was looking for an extra side pouch to attach to my new EDC shoulder pack. I have a much smaller one connected to my current pack. This fit great. Much snugger in connecting it to my MOLLE rings than my current setup (exact same model pack). I'm VERY glad this has snaps AND MOLLE rings. I like to have a secure connection and not need to worry that the bag may become unsnapped. Larger in capacity than my current add on bag from another manufacturer. Will let me get more gear in it. Another big thumbs us is the hoops for patches. Many people may not use that, but I have several patches I have on my current pack. This will allow an area to use for any future patches.

The quality appearsto be quite good and for the price you can't beat it. I keep small pill case, gum, individual eye glasses wipes, folding box knife. chapstick and a small bottle of hand-sanitizer in this pouch. Light small items that I normally need quick and don't want to dig in my main bag.Update: Almost two years later. I have this pouch attached to a backpack I use every day for work. It's great for little things you need quick access to.Four years and still going! Everything still works as it should. I've replaced the Paracord part of the zipper pulls with a different colored Paracord for some individual syle.

The pouch was perfect for what I needed, but I ordered 2 of them, and if you put them side by side they are two different colours. One was a pretty accurate gray like in the image, a neutral tone gray. But the second one I was shipped was a completely different shade, with much more of a green tone to the gray. Unfortunate if you are matching it to exciting body armour, or placing them both on the same body armour. I will attach an image soon.

I have several that I purchased as add on items which made them a steal. They are used for a variety of different kits including fire and blowout kits. I have only had one that had any sort of problem, and that was a faulty zipper. The only thing that could be better is the snaps for the molle straps.

Simple and good fit. It is on the darker side. I have the "ghost" or "shadow " gray and it did not match perfectly. However, it fits my purpose and isn't far off enough to send it back. See pic below

Low quality stitching in the most critical areas. As you can see here one of the molle straps completely detached from the bag and eliminated most of its purpose as a pouch. Unfortunately I cannot say that this only happened after lots of wear and tear, because this was only after really light use. Light as in hanging in my closet empty waiting to be purposed as part of a BoB.I really wanted to like this pouch because the design works for me and I have now bought several NC Star products; I now wish I had not after seeing how unreliable they are (this happened on the stitching of the actual molle webbing of their water bottle carrier for me too). Now I am unable to recommend buying this pouch or any other gear made by NC Star. It is just not up to quality for the tasks it's supposed to fulfill and it WILL fail you. Will not recommend. Will not re-purchase. You have been warned.

Won't hold a 5 1/2" display phone. Anything smaller than that and you've got a good product here, but for my needs I wanted to be able to run a charge cable into the phone in the velcro pouch and it was just not possible. Fan of the color though! I would like to see more Molle accessories come in this color.
