I can't remove the waffle plates for cleaning on my Belgian machine, so I rely on this excellent brush to clean the non-stick surfaces. The bristles are tough and stiff but they don't make scratches. They release any stuck on bits and I use a bulb blower to puff out the loose crumbs that remain. A once-over with a damp rag finishes the cleanup. This brush is a bit expensive for what it is, but it does do the job. I can't speak for how long it will last, but after a few uses I don't see any wear or splayed bristles.
