Unique, Original, Hilariously Enjoyable
This author is/was new to me, prior to starting the series. I haven’t enjoyed a series of books quite as much as these in a very long time. The main female character is witty without being obnoxious and the plot of the story is so original, compared with all the other series available with KU. I have laughed out loud more with these 2 books than I can remember in forever! No glaring typos, grammar,editing- just great world building and characters.Told from dual POV (MFC/MMC) but predominantly MFC- the mystery and intrigue with keep you guessing... light steam factor, but as someone who enjoys 🔥🔥- i can honestly say that I haven’t necessarily missed it- as the mystery/intrigue/humor storytelling is just that good.I stumbled upon this series as i said, so I didn’t read the “universe” in order- and i plan to go back after book 3 and read Killian/Hazel series, but with that said, i don’t feel lost or like i’ve stepped into the middle of a story having read this series first-The first book ended with a cliffhanger, same as this book, however The first was more “😲what’s gonna happen next??!” and this one is “🥺”... I’m anxious to read the final installment so I can get my HEA!!!don’t hesitate, read these books!

Funny, witty, and a little sarcastic
Shea once again brings humor and charm to a world building story with wholesome characters and depth you don't expect in a comedy-esq style book. The joy of the book comes with moments of mind twisting scenes that will keep you reading until past your bed time.

Really enjoyed this but…
I’m really enjoying this series. The first book is definitely 5 stars in my book ;) and i will definitely read the next one. This one still had some really good parts, but I think things went a little bit overboard with the shenanigans.Love the originality of the story, personality of the characters, and the lack of most of the normal cliches but it felt a little like some of the crazier details were just thrown together kind of willy-nilly for shock value. That she can just come into this position and do whatever and offend everyone and say whatever with no repercussions as the lowest powered monarch. Finally, the only thing that’s been driving me crazy about all of her books, is that the characters get injured, sometimes the details indicate severely, but its like they’re miraculously, immediately healed. I understand they have potions but sometimes those don’t come in until much later and it seems overly optimistic and happy-path.

NOOOOO!!!!!
It’s over. I’ve read the last page. And now I have to wait. I’m dying over here!!!! Book three, come quickly! Pretty please!KM Shea. You have blown me away with your writing ever since I read Robyn Hood many years ago. Let me say one thing. Your books— they are my happy place. I have read so many more than twice. That just goes to show you that when I say THIS is my favorite to date, it means a LOT.Now, fan girling over, on to the book. Leila and her motley crew had me laughing (LITERALLY) out loud so many times, I do believe my family thought I was having a seizure. It was sweet, it was exciting, it was thoroughly enchanting, and now I’m having book withdrawals. Anyhow, if you haven’t picked it up yet, do yourself a favor and find book 1 in the Court of Midnight and Deception series and start it. Right now. You will not be disappointed. I promise. As always, Miss Shea’s books are clean enough for my nephew to read, action packed enough for my father, and contains thoroughly sweet romance that has my girly side melting.Thank you, Miss Shea, for another beautiful read. Now... to wait. It’s fine. (Thank you, Leila, for my new fav word.)

It’s not over yet
First- I am biased since KMS has become my favorite author. Second- I LOVE her characters and the story she builds. This book is no exception- Lelia and Rigel offer both sides of the same story with a slow burn romance (I could use a tiny bit more speed) but I love the uncertainty and the honesty the characters bring to the plot. Leila has been voluntold by the nightmares she is the new Queen of the Night Court, which is a wreck after the last terrible monarchy. Half-human, she rules her realm with integrity, and finds loyalty in unexpected places. She is being targeted by unforeseen assassins. Her fellow fae royals just don’t know what to do with this unconventional queen of the night court. Magic is dying, fae are fighting and trying to keep up appearances, and Leila is trying to save her court. Without spoiling the fun of reading the book and series, readers will enjoy seeing some believed favorite characters from the sister series and meet a few new friends and foes. The only downfall is I have to wait for the last book! Monsters attacking, night creatures defending, fae royals bickering.... this series has it all. Clean, suspenseful, exciting- K, you haven’t disappointed yet! Side Note- eventually I’d love to read about more species crossover plots and relationships! You have so many stories waiting to be told :) Lord Linus, King Solis, the night mares POV. So many things to ponder! You are quickly becoming my virtual BFF as I laugh out loud at your wit and sass! I know we’d be fast friends! Keep writing!!!!

Good
The political infighting of the immature fae gets old. Leila goes through her life with an obsessive work ethic toward her new kingdom and a belief she can change the traditions of the fae. The humor in this second book was more of the same outrageous in the face of tradition stunts, but now her court thinks she is cute and it loses its comedic factor. The ending of books one and two in this series were abrupt. Luckily, I didn’t have to wait for the next book and they were free to borrow from kindle unlimited. I want to finish this series and hope there is more action in the third book.I enjoyed the Killian series better as there was more action and a faster progression of the story.

wonderful
After reading all three books of this serie without stopping, I decided to write only one review not to be repetitive. It’s an original story with lovely characters, a lot of fun, intrigues, romance, politics, fights, but above all, it’s a story of respect: respect to the ones you lead, respect to nature, respect to anyone’s choices, respect to the different. Leila is the symbol of it being her closest staff the kind followers, finding solutions and helping whenever needed. This could surely be applied to our world that lacks it. A serie to be dearly carved in my heart.

Another awesome book in this urban fantasy series
Glooms, Shades, Night Mares opening cool travel portals, Hydras, a former? assassin husbund who might have very nice abs, many rulers of Fae courts (mostly seasonal) who may or may not be trying to kill our heroine, disappearing magic (come back Elves), coffee: Yes!!, the fae realm-crumbling, the human realm-humany, fae doing strange things-not too worrying, fae are kinda strange, a cute hairless cat, tea-that is a no, more coffee: definitely,a coffee machine???, a kickass 1/2 human 1/2 fae heroine who quite possibly likes coffee quite a bit, ok, ok, likes coffee ALOT!!!!!! are all a wonderful part, of this second book, in this awesome urban fantasy series. I am loving it.

Loved it
What a really fun read with many laugh out loud moments. Very slow burn romance but the main character is very likeable with her humour and character. Good supporting characters with depth. Interesting storyline which maybe could have been a little faster in places but this is easy to forgive as Leila is just so funny. Real feel good book, looking forward to reading more in this series.

Noiso
Eh...che dire la protagonista è troppo sopra le righe, 3 libri sono decisamente troppi e la storia alla fine e noiosa. Peccato il libro di Hazel e Drake era tutt'altra cosa . deludente
