Worked well w/ my XtremepowerUS 3600W Jack Hammer
Worked perfectly with my XtremepowerUS 3600W Electric Demolition Jack Hammer (also purchased on Amazon) to drive a 8' ground rod into shale. Took awhile but it did the job. I would never have been able to do this with a maul.

Hope it doesn't break like the one in the reviews....
Took a risk due to the picture of the broken one.I have a Gasoline Jackhammer (red thing) from Amazon (you'll know it when you search for it). My jackhammer claims it is a " 1-1/6"" Hex - yes, one SIXTH of an inch (???) - this thing works in it. Works great, works like it was made for it.If you've got the mystery gas-powered jackhammer from Amazon, that uses really weird units of measure, and you're wondering if this ground-rod-driver will fit.... the answer, Raymond, is YES!I like the steel - something wonderful about heavy steel. It is horrible to use - think dry waterboarding - but, that's the nature of jackhammers. Is good. Makes Stompy (what, your tool doesn't have a name?) ready to expand her poking capabilities. To sum it up - it is steel, it fits in my Stompy, it is heavy. That is all, end transmission.

Time is money, and this rod driver certainly managed to get the job done for me super fast. I just drove a 3/4"x10' ground rod today in under five minutes. This was in really hard adobe clay, and you can't do anything here without a jackhammer. I had previously driven a 5/8"x8' rod in the same location with a Bosch demo hammer, and this was way faster, even with the much bigger rod.I don't do this for a living, so I can't speak to reliability, but I live int he SF Bay Area, and $40 plus five minutes compared to what I might have to pay to rent a suitable demo hammer and rod driver, let alone get someone else to come out and drive even one ground rod shows that this driver paid for itself many times over on its first use. I may never use it again, but it still will have been a bargain. In case anyone cares, this rod driver weighs in at 5.5lbs. By comparison, a Bosch SDS-Max rod driver is 2lbs, and SDS-Plus drivers seem to be about 10oz. Couple that with the weight of a TR Industrial demo drill (42 pounds) and even a relatively light person such as myself can get the job done quickly. The combo is ungainly, but ungainly is fine for five minutes.

This fit my super cheap knock-off jack hammer (https
This fit my super cheap knock-off jack hammer (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000K7U3G4/). I made a little plastic pad for the end and used it to drive brick edging further into the ground. Also used it (with a piece of 2x6 in between) to vibrate sand into patio pavers. It worked great.

Excellent bit!
Solid tool to pound in the rebar.

Skip the water bottle method
The YouTube videos on the water bottle method are lies. This thing made quick work of the two rods I needed to drive in in Rocky soil.

Works great
I should have bought one of these years ago it literally took about 2 minutes to drive that rod all the way in the ground

Pricey but beefy - still probably cheaper than similar from a name brand
Very expensive piece, but stout. Buying these tr-one bits is a bit like buying ink for a printer. Printer is cheap, ink isn't. However if you have the jackhammer, this is a high quality ground rod driver that will never wear out. The outer diameter is about 2" and I believe it accommodates up to 3/4" rod - though I was using it to drive 1 1/4" well pipe with a homemade jig/fitting. I also think these tr-one chisels and driver's can work on other makes.of hammer.
