I secured it with floral wire and it was ready to use in just a few seconds. It's perfect for garden style arrangements. It was a pleasure to pick some flowers from my garden and freely arrange them.

I have used the 4” and most recently the 6” version in a glass compote for our Christmas table. I taped the cage in a couple places to anchor it. It proved to work very well for a variety of stems and stem sizes (woody and thick to delicate). This is an effective alternative to oasis for vessels with round openings and I will continue using these.

I stopped using floral foam for environmental reasons (nondegradable, toxic). I don't especially like using chicken wire, and taping a grid doesn't always give the support I want or allow for angled stems. I often use a kenzan, but it's hard for me to get angled stems with the ones I own. I read about these on a floral designer's blog and decided to try. I love them. I have both the 6-inch and the 4-inch. They don't need to be taped in so long as they are the proper size. The two layers provide good support, and I can get the draping and angles that I want. Just be careful when inserting from the side that your stems are in the water. It's a learning process. Enjoy.

Good for grocery store flower arrangements. Not as good for large stems like sunflowers.

Handy component for building first flower arrangement. Purchased more immediately!I just wish all plastic products would come down in price a bit, particularly when I gifted my creation and therefore can’t reuse to parts.
