I think they're exactly the same except these new ones have two suction cups and the old ones only had one. Which was a major PITA. One suction cup really isn't enough to hold these too well once they're good and settled in. When they're full of water the sponges are heavy enough to where they want to kinda "droop" forward. That and they tend to want to slide down the glass during water changes. These ones will probably be way better with two suction cups. And you can't beat the price for four of them. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love the extra biological filtration they provide *by A***W on Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2018* I have the four divided amongst three different tanks. Two are in my 10 gallon quarantine tank. And one is in my 55 gallon platy and betta tank. And the last in my general community tank with amano shrimp, tetras, and Corydoras. I love the extra biological filtration they provide. The two in 55 gallon tanks aren’t the only filtration I use but are more of a extra help to a HOB and canister filter. The fish love it because usually extra food will get stuck to the side and the shrimp hang out eating the dretitus that build up in between tank cleaning. They are excellent for fry care in that there is no chance it can get sucked into the filter like other means of filtration and they keep the water surface moving to help with the gas exchange necessary for aquariums.
