Everyday they get bonito flakes at 2:45 pm. If I am a bit late they stand on either side of me and stare at me until I realize it’s time for bonito. These flakes are food grade. Many Asian folks use bonito flakes in soups, etc. I cannot testify about the flavor, but my cats would not eat them if they did not like the flavor. After putting the bonito flakes in a bag, Kaneso fills the bag with air to further prevent the flakes from being crushed into a powder. Amazon does its part by putting the bags in a box for delivery. This is another step to prevent crushing the flakes. One bag lasts at least three weeks for two kitties, so this is a big bargain.
