Not keen on colour but warm

I've had this blanket on my Amazon Wishlist for a long time now, but it's always been out of stock in the colour I wanted for my bedroom. Recently, it became available, so I jumped at the chance to finally get one. I love crushed velvet and sherpa, so this blanket seemed like the best of both worlds for me - not to mention, I can never have enough blankets on rotation in my bedroom (I have a boxer dog that seems to think every blanket I bring into the house is his property lol).The blanket arrived safely packaged up and folded neatly, but it soon became evident upon opening it that this wasn't quite the 'luxury' quality being advertised. Don't get me wrong, it's well made and there are no loose threads/edges to the stitching that ruin the look or make it seem cheap, but there are issues.For one, the crushed velvet isn't soft at all, it's actually quite scratchy which is the strangest sensation I've ever experienced with velvet. No other velvet (crushed or not) that I've touched has ever felt like this - yes, I have other crushed velvet throws and bed spreads, so I know what it's meant to feel like. As for the sherpa side of the throw, it's very 'bitty' - pieces of it keep falling off which makes quite a mess in the bedroom, and it's actually quite thin, so it wouldn't make the most ideal blanket for warmth either.Fortunately, the saving grace is that the blanket looks perfectly nice as a focal piece and adds a pop of colour, so it's not all bad, but I certainly won't be using it to snuggle up and keep warm with considering the sherpa side is thin and the velvet side is scratchy.Overall, visually a nice blanket if you use it crushed velvet side up, but not very functional if you're looking to purchase for warmth and/or some extra cosy softness in the winter months. 4 stars for the aesthetic, 1 removed for the points mentioned above.

To protect bedspread from my bed hopping dog. Perfect, washable and perfect match.

Lovely combination of blue and white, very soft and warm, easy to wash and dry.

Looks ok haven’t washed it yet. Has a sort of brushed look to the top cover. Overall it’s ok 👍

I bought two of these for my sofa's. I love the soft feel of the sherpa they are warm and cosy just what I wanted. I would recommend.
