There is a rubber gasket around the bottom and you could remove it, but it may not fit. I do not know if this is true for all cars. Husband's SUV has a wider cup holder. It's a great water bottle - we have two. **Q: Is the bottom sealing dot lead free?** A: I am not sure what you mean by the dot. However, my bottle was plastic, not stainless steel. (as advertised). I have really enjoyed it though. The only downside is that it sweats.
