It's been 4 days since I've used the knife and the sharpness has decreased significantly. I noticed this as I was trying to slice a tomato and I was not able to slice it with a single stroke as when the knife was brand new. I was not expecting this from such an expensive knife. Quite disappointed.

Never really appreciate a quality slicing knife until you try it, and what an upgrade it can be on even the most high-end chef's knife ... for the right task. I've been experimenting with brisket for several weeks now, and I'd be lying if I claimed to have enjoyed consistent success, but this one turned out well. Excalibut ran off clean, even slices, made almost effortless by the length and narrowness of the blade, combined with a razor-sharp edge. I'm not giving it five stars because I've only had it for a couple of weeks and haven't had the opportunity to use it that much, so I don't know how long it'll hold its edge or how much of a process it'll be to have it sharpened.

At Black Friday prices, I stocked up on several different models of TUO knives because they make great gifts, just about everyone needs a good knife in their kitchen. Their full tang knives are nicely balanced, this one was for a special person.

Another knife I purchased for another as a gift - I got to use it and get a feel for it myself.Still sharp after a month of using it at work. The Damascus is beautiful and weight distribution is well balanced.Would recommend TUO knives in general as a mid-high range knife. Just as good as some top tier brands.
