Product description Pre-Built Bass Performance R2-2X12 More bass, powerful performance. The R2 loaded enclosures feature powerful bass output, high quality construction, with an easy drop-in installation. The R2-2X12 is pre-loaded with two 12" R2 dual voice coil subwoofers loaded in a Rockford Fosgate precision-built sealed enclosure. The R2-2X12 is internally wired to a 2-ohm load, so you just need to add an amplifier, and you are ready to go right out of the box. For optimum performance, add an amplifier that produces up to 500 Watts RMS at 2Ω for a perfect match and experience the thumping bass response. Rockford Fosgate’s Prime loaded enclosures are constructed with durable 5/8" MDF and tuned by our computer aided design software to ensure quality sound and high output. The rear side of the enclosure is slanted to conform to the back seat, allowing the subwoofer enclosure to be directed towards the rear license plate of the vehicle for considerable air compression, resulting in powerful low frequency bass reproduction. The high current binding posts are spring loaded, so the enclosure can be easily removed and reinstalled with ease, for trips when luggage space is needed in the trunk/hatch area. The high current binding posts accept up to 12 gauge speaker wire for maximum current delivery from your amp. **Q: Will my boss d1000.2 2 channel mosfet power 2000 watt amp work with these subs?**
A: No it will kill them, a 1200 watt amp killed these 2 times

**Q: May I ask the main difference between these and the 10inch? Both produce 500watts. Will the 12’s sound any different?**
A: They are both impressive sounding subwoofer enclosures. But the larger dual 12" configuration sub will play louder and go a bit lower....if you have the room for it! Hope that helps...thanks for your interest in Rockford Fosgate!

I have the R2 12’s and they only lasted a couple months. Voice coils blew out on both speakers. I have a skar 2000.1 amp connected to it but had the gain turned down. Sound was good when it worked
