SOGKiku Quick-Opening Sharp Ambidextrous Pocket Folding Knives with Linen Micarta Handle | CTS XHP Steel, XR Lock

I have several SOG knives, some dating back to when the company was new, and have always liked them, but they hit this one out of the park. It's a super cool knife. It is just the right size for me for a pocket knife. Very burly, but not too big. It is very well made, and so fast and easy to open and close that it's fun. I can't stop fooling with it. :-)

I prefer folders with a thumb hole versus a pin or post. Just seems lower profile and easier on the pockets to me.Great fit and finish. Love the blade design and edge. Will be hard to sharpen due to the curved edge, but learning something new hasn't killed me yet.If you can afford it. I highly recommend.

I already own a SOG KIKU XR with the natural grips and it's a great knife. I love it so much I purchased the Blackout edition as a display piece. But when this one arrived, I was sad to see that it's nothing like my 1st one. The blade rubs when opening and closing. The grips don't match at all (see photos) and the clips don't say SOG on them like my original does. It may be hard to tell that one side is black and the otherside is natural but trust me, this is not the way the knife should look. The action is stiff because of the blade rub and it just ....doesn't feel right.To make matters worse, the one pictured in the ad has the SOG logo, a skull wearing a beret - but none of the current model knives have this. Either SOG has gone wildly random with their logo/blade stamps or the fake knife market has exploded. This one is going back. Fingers crossed for a reputable replacement.UPDATE: A replacement was received, however, it has the exact same issues. One grip is black, one is a natural - nearly tan color. It looks dumb and the knife it self lacks the smooth action of my original model. The release button feels gritty and the entire experience is upsetting. What happened to SOG? Calling their customer service is awful. I'm giving up the dream on this one. I'm confident I can find a better solution with Benchmade.

Excellent knife, great fit, finish and design! Very sharp!

Received the knife. Knife box stickers were not attached to the box. Knife was loose in box. Knife doesn't open all the way. Obviously it was a returned item. I have requested a replacement. Will update date review upon receipt of new item.

Not a fan of the fact that the knife pictured is not what's being shipped. I was fully aware of the country of origin, but I was not aware that the knife would have TAIWAN boldly printed on the blade, especially since the knife pictured did not have that, nor does my previous Kiku XR. Trying to decide if I'm going to return it.

Taiwan on the blade and the micarta handle has two different shades.
