Best TV bang for the buck!
It's amazing how much TVs have improved across the board over the past 5 years. This is especially true of budget TVs because many of the features that were only found in upper level, premium units such as Dolby vision, HDR and dts sound have migrated down to their cheaper siblings. After a ton of research, I purchased the 50 inch Hisense R6 and mounted it to my bedroom wall. When it comes to performance, I have zero regrets. Sure, it's not as vibrant as my 65 inch OLED that I have in my family room, or loaded with features such as Filmmaker mode and Bluetooth, but it's a huge improvement over the 43 inch plasma TV it replaced. With a bit of tweaking, I was able to get the color adjusted to my preference. Now I understand that everyone is different, but the following adjustments is what I found to be the best for me: TV brightness: Brighter Picture mode: Standard Under "Customized picture" Backlight: 100 Brightness: 55 Contrast: 100 Sharpness: 10 Color: 40 Tint: -5 Under "Expert settings: Dynamic contrast: off Noise reduction: Low Color temperature: Normal Auto setting: Standard Gamma correction: 2.2 Under sound mode: Theater Be aware that HDR content has to be separately adjusted... Again, keep in mind these are the adjustments that work best for me. I would encourage you to experiment with tweaking the TV because you will most likely not be satisfied with the default settings that come out of the box... You'll notice that I have not taken the time to comment on the specs of the TV because that type of information can easily be found online and YouTube. Suffice to say that a better TV for the money just doesn't exist - at least for the time being. The Hisense R6 is well built, the baked in Roku operating system is fantastic and the asking price is remarkable. Can you get a better TV if you're willing to pay a lot more? Of course, but I think that vast majority who buy the Hisense R6 are going to be perfectly satisfied with the video quality of this TV. One last thing as a side note, if your TV (or anything else you buy on Amazon for that matter) is delivered damaged, get in touch with Amazon who will most likely replace it - Nothing is more annoying than to see somebody post a 1 star review for a delivery/shipment situation that has absolutely NOTHING directly to do with a product or its performance. Just saying!

Impressive
I've been using this TV for a little over two months and we love it. It's the best Roku TV we have ever had and the price was absolutely unbelievable. In the past our Roku TVs (usually TCL Roku TV's) have been glitchy and it just gets annoying. They would have issues with sound and volume on certain apps, Hulu was the worst. We could have our old TV with the volume maxed and we could still barely hear our shows (but if an ad came on it blew our eardrums out.) With Disney+ it would crash constantly to the point we just didn't use that app on our main floor TV. Fortunately this TV does not do that. The sound system is great, the display is great, and it works well with all of our streaming apps. It was also extremely simple to set up and add all of our streaming channels to it. ***Update as of September 2025- It's still going strong 💪***

Fantastic for the price
I ordered this 65 inch tv for a conference room in my office because of the 399 price. I am partial to Samsung TV’s for the picture quality but for a conference room at 399…..I just had to give it a try as I am not watching movies on this thing!!! I have always believed you “get what you pay for” when it comes to TV price and quality of the pic. Everyone in my office thinks the pic is great and I don’t see any difference between this pic and my TVs at 2 or 3x the price. Easy to set up, super thin and light. Remote is laid out nicely for easy use. I am so happy with this purchase, I am replacing a TV in my home with one of these. I noticed several bad reviews for “damaged” boxes and the tv was broken. This is a delivery issue not a tv issue. I am extremely pleased with the quality of this TV even at 2x the price. (It was packed VERY securely). I would not hesitate to buy this TV instead of another “bigger brand name”.

Great TV, but the Remote is Less Than it Should Be.
I love the TV, but the remote is pretty wimpy. It’s the same remote (or similar to) the remote we use in the bedroom for the Roku connected to a Panasonic Plasma screen that’s over fifteen years old. Television is perfect. The remote, not so much. It’ll pass, but we’ll probably add a universal remote to replace it and add it to our arsenal. That cost will be added to the overall cost of this television and it’s less than par remote. We’ll remember this and will know better when we begin looking for televisions to replace the older one in the bedroom. We’re also disappointed that there’s no other way to introduce audio to our home theatre system without purchasing a third party piece of equipment that will change the digital audio output to RCA inputs. I know it seems like older technology, but the television doesn’t even provide any Bluetooth capabilities to use a third party device we already have. We will absolutely do more research when it’s time to upgrade the plasma screen in the bedroom. We'll have a similar issue there. Update: We chose to purchase a Roku Voice Remote that works great with our new television. We’d prefer using a keypad, but this works. We’ll probably still go a different route when we replace the plasma screen in the bedroom. Update: We woke up one morning and the televise wouldn’t display a picture. We contacted the vendor and they said someone local would come to my house to see what the problem was. Nine days later, a local television repair company showed up. He and his “helper” proceeded to take the mother board off my television then scratch up the front screen stating the board was bad and the television was no longer operable. I asked what I was supposed to do with the non-working television and he said I’d have to dispose of it myself. I asked about the $469 I had paid for the television six months ago and he said that Hisense would be reaching out to me within 24 hours. Three days later, Hisense called and said they’d be sending me a refund and I should expect a check in the mail in 10-14 days. I asked about them just sending me a replacement set and they told me that this would not be an option. I even offered to upgrade from a 55” screen to a 65” screen. Nope. Wasn’t going to happen. Four weeks later, the check arrived. Would I ever purchase another Hisense television? Probably not. I think I’m going to take my money and purchase TCL 65” screen from a local big box store. Hisense and their “customer service” sucks.

Best TV for the money
I needed another TV for the guest room. This 50 inch TV has all the bells and whistles on it (4K TV, SMART with Roku, google, Alexa, full array LED backlight LCD display, Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10 sound). The only weak point is the 60Hz (60 frames per second) refresh rate vs 120Hz. The picture quality, to my eyes, is clear, sharp, and bright colors. The sound quality is not stereo quality because it is difficult to build good base speakers into a <22 pound TV. An external sound bar or speakers could fix that but it sounds pretty good to me. I placed this TV next to my, much more expensive, ~48 inch, 4K, 120Hz refresh, LG TV and do not see any visual difference. This TV costs <1/2 the price as well so is a deal. The question I can't answer is how reliable is it or how long will it last? At this price, if it fails, I can buy another new one and still have saved money.

(Updated Review 4/24/24) Good buy
Original Review: My first Roku tv and I’m happy with it. It has a good picture and the sound is good enough for a small living room or bedroom. I put it in a rental house so it’s more than good enough. Setting up the Roku account was a pain but I had to create a new email address since this is in an Airbnb. Otherwise it was easy to get setup. Update 4/24/2024: The tv died on 4/18/2024. Nothing happened to cause this, no power surges or anything. It simply went black; it was powered on but only had lines on the screen. I realize you get what you pay for and wasn’t devastated because this is a cheap TV but I think it’s reasonable to expect it to last longer than 18 months. I won’t buy another.

Won’t last, terrible customer service, do not purchase
Not worth it. Wish I spent more money on a better TV and a company with better care for their products and customers. Bought this tv in Feb 2024. It completely stopped working in March 2025, conveniently one month after the warranty expired. Not knowing that, I spent 3 months submitting claims online that never seemed to process, on the phone with customer service and chasing claim/email updates (because no one ever responded when they said they would, if they even bothered to respond at all). But I kept at it because I was told I should be covered under the manufacturers warranty. I finally got a Hisense technician scheduled and was told I’d hear back in 24-48 hrs to confirm the appointment date/time. After not hearing from Hisense again, I called back customer service and had to repeat everything I had done with them previously because they had no record of the proof of purchase and documentation of the issue I had sent in prior. After another hour on the phone, they told me my tv actually wasn’t covered under warranty, which is why no answered me. That’s how they handle their customers. No update that I wouldn’t hear from a technician or the status of my claim had changed / was no longer eligible for repair under warranty. They basically told me too bad and when I asked if I could speak to a supervisor to address the misinformation and series of incidents that resulted in so much of my time being wasted (still without a functioning tv), they hung up on me. I did separately get Asurion coverage and filed a claim with them as well. They initially declined my claim because Amazon submitted the wrong purchase date on my tv to them, but after being spun in circles by Hisense and going back to Asurion, I got the nicest customer service rep who filed my claim for me and got a technician scheduled to come to my apt 2 days later. So at the very least, if you’re buying a Hisense tv or other product, please make sure you get the Asurion coverage. They have been my saving grace after the long slew of painful customer service interactions. That said, I still wish I could’ve avoided this entire situation by buying a tv that lasted longer than 13 months. Buyer beware.

Teen is thrilled with his Christmas present
My kids have never had television in their rooms because I didn't want them to be antisocial in the house but now that they're older there seemed to be no reason to say no when my teen asked for one. I don't know much about electronics anymore because the tech changes so fast. I relied heavily on the reviews and the price of this one and it worked out great for us. We had in-home delivery and setup a few days before Christmas. The delivery was perfectly easy and seamless. They showed up right on time, were quick, and left no mess. We stashed the tv in the basement and brought it up for Christmas Day and the kid was thrilled. I haven't seen him yet today. I might not. The color is bright, the picture is clear, and it's sturdy enough sitting on its feet until we get it mounted to the wall. Mounting it is necessary for us because the tv is lightweight and we have both a rambunctious teen and too-curious big housecat. The cat could easily tip the tv over if he went up on his back legs and put his front legs on the screen. It's a great set at a great price with great delivery. Very happy with this purchase and most importantly, so is the kid.

El televisor tiene muy buena imagen, es un buen precio por una pantalla de tal tamaño.
El televisor vino sin detalles, la resolución es muy buena, pero el sonido es un poco hueco.
