AsepticMD BodyWash has been the game changer for my severe Keratosis Pilaris. The keratin plugs break down and sough out after a few days. I have two kinds of KP, what I call Plain KP and Red KP. The Plain KP, the rough skin colored bumps that are pale colored and not inflamed. Red KP, the bumps are red and inflamed, and severe. This bodywash has been the most effective treatment for my KP so far, and I have tried everything. AsepticMD Bodywash was effective immediately on the Plain KP. The little flaky plugs of keratin dried up and sloughed out after a few days. My skin is much smoother, and the Plain KP cleared up before it could become Red KP. The Red KP is still there, smaller, less inflamed, smoother, but still there. I think it will take longer than a few months. Even if the Red KP doesn’t get any better, it isn’t spreading and it isn’t getting worse. I won’t be without AspeticMD Bodywash, it has been the game changer I needed. I use it every day, twice a day if i can. First I de-oil my skin and wash off any lotion with a salicylic acid acne body wash on a soft exfoliating cloth. Then I lather on the AsepticMD Bodywash and let it sit a few minutes. Then rinse. I follow up with Amlactin lotion. I had been using salicylic body wash, frequent glycolic acid peels and 2x daily Amlactin lotion before, almost no improvement. Using this AsepticMD Bodywash made a huge improvement for my KP immediately. I stopped doing glycolic peels and switched to daily AsepticMD Bodywash instead, the results have been amazing.

I purchased this as part of my "try anything" approach to dealing with keratosis pilaris. Both because most products that break down keratin are acids and because of inconsistent reports of this product, I was skeptical - but this stuff definitely works. I can't speak to the disinfectant properties or anything like that, but I notice an immediate reduction in keratin when scrubbing with the body wash. My only problem is that to keep my skin completely smooth requires 2-3 applications of the body wash twice a day (I'm also putting on amlactin after using this stuff but it doesn't seem to be slowing the keratin build up much). That being said it seems more effective than anything I've used shy of concentrated lactic acid (which, while removing all the keratin pretty much immediately, required a week or so of healing time afterward). I will be trying the serum to see if that is more concentrated / more easily removes the keratin.

The bottle came leaking, but less than a full use amount came out. I just scooped it up and washed my hands with it. These should come sealed with a cap and then we can screw on the pump nozzle. That would reduce leaks. I will update with results as i use, but i bought this to help mitigate the HS boils i have under my breasts and bikini line. I have used the foaming facial cleanser before which is gentle on my skin and doesn’t burn or make my skin feel tight after. The bottle is smaller than i thought but we’ll see how long it lasts.

My dermatologist recommended it and it works. Doesn’t go very far and is a bit pricey but it works with repetition!

This made my KP worse. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because it was n't as drying as I thought it would be based on the ingredients. It's by no means a miracle cure.
