MTECH USAMX-A849CL Spring Assist Folding Knife

I've owned, loved and used knives my entire life. Knives are a functional tool to me and IMOP, there are 4 categories of knives.1. Cheap junk like you might buy for a dollar or two at a gas station or parts store.2. Inexpensive decent, you can get these at many places like cabelas or walmart.3. Good but a bit pricey, likely found at places like cabelas or other outdoor outlets.4. Overly expensive and more of a piece of art that you likely won't ever use due to its value (custom made)To me, the MTECH knives are a good, inexpensive knife. You likely aren't buying a premium blade but they will sharpen and do the trick just fine. The quality is decent and they will hold up just fine for the average user. These knives have some decent heft to them and feel sturdy. The action is a bit sub-par on many of these knives at this price point but you're getting what you paid for. These aren't what I'd consider crappy knives and yet they're not on the same level as Benchmade, Spyderco or even Buck for that matter but they are a good knife for the money.

It is a cool knife. I love it

I was fortunate to get it at such a low price, I was also skeptical about getting it for that price. Was I lucky and wrong. This knife is beautiful to look at, comfortable to hold and use. Fits perfect in the hand and it’s lightweight yet sturdy. The design is amazing, you can look at it for a while before even using it. The only downside and its the only downside. The fact that its an American patriotic knife. Has old glory and our eagle imprinted on the steel, but it has a tiny print of on the bottom of sharp end that says, china. Nothing against china, but it just looks funny that such a patriotic designed knife has that print on it. Just the irony of it is all. Other than that. Its a gorgeous and beautifully designed piece of steel.

I absolutely love this knife it’s well made and looks great and I carry it every day . If you want a patriotic knife that looks great this the one you should get

The knife feels great in the hand - it feels sturdy. The blade is pretty sharp for everyday use. The engraving is good and seems like it will last wear and tear. Flipping it open using the spring-assist is so satisfying.The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because, out of the box, it had a few minor dings in the white pattern (see photo). Not sure if it was used and returned but it was a little disappointing given how pretty the knife is overall. All in all, you can't go wrong for 10 bucks.

Its really easy to sharpen and it stays sharp, but I noticed that mine had a couple marks on the red lines and they wont come off. But other than that its a really good knife for the price. I would recommend it.

Got a lot of compliments on this knife. It is sturdy and looks good. Haven't had to sharpen it yet. It is a little larger than my previous EDC knives but not so bulky to be a bummer. I like it.

Everthing works. Great price.
