Good for singers who like to practice late night in hotels
I absolutely love this product. It really comes in handy for late night, rehearsals and hotels. I don’t want to disturb everyone else while practicing for my shows very easy to clean damp. The sound really well will definitely buy another one if needed in the future I’ve recommended this to all of my singing friends.

This will revolutionize my singing practice
All my life I wanted to be a singer, but I have a serious psychological mental block about making noise. I genuinely don't know where it came from, but for literally my entire life, I've hated the idea of being loud which, unfortunately, extends to singing. I made some headway against it when I picked up the saxophone, which there's just no way to play quietly, but I still was absolutely struggling to put any power behind my voice. Before I got my Beltbox, I would struggle to hit notes in my chest voice range because I just wasn't giving myself enough breath support, so the note would get choked off before it could come out, and my head voice range extended to a strained A5 and a passable F 4. Almost immediately after I started practicing with the beltbox, because I could no longer hear myself as clearly (and the psychological notion that, neither could anyone else), I was literally instantly able to hit E5. I have never sung that high in my life, and could not believe my tuner. I had to go to my piano, play the note, and sing it to confirm. Some caveats: yes, it is difficult to breathe while wearing this thing. You may want to either hold it in your hand, or keep a hand free to move it when you breathe in otherwise, you'll start to open your mouth horizontally really wide to break the seal and inhale that way which could become a bad habit if you're not conscious of it. If you correct yourself during non beltbox practice this shouldn't be too much of an issue though. One of the criticisms I've seen online, especially on Reddit, is that it's "just a $50 pillow". Two problems with that argument though. One, a pillow ain't portable. You're not going to shove a pillow in your purse or day bag. Two, you can't strap a pillow to your face, if you want to actually see where you're going anyway. This is excellent for quiet practice while multitasking, and it honestly just looks like a very unique face mask in the post-pandemic world we live in. I'd rather someone think I'm just wearing a unique face mask while I strengthen my voice and breath control, than to hear the awful noises I'm going to be making into this thing (from the next room/next door, anyway. If someone's in the same room they are goiing to hear you. That's just how physics works). Now if you'll excuse me, I have some singing practice to get back to!

Muffles sound relatively well but doesn't stop all sound leaking
Product came on time and in relatively good condition. Muffles the sound you make with your voice but if your roommate is sensitive to noise this won't stop them from waking up. Problems can start when you wear glasses. Wearing the mask properly makes it so that its very difficult to wear glasses at the same time as the mask can ride up to your nose. Moving the mask down to accommodate means that a gap may form around the chin allowing sound to leak through. I personally solved this issue by stuffing a microfiber cloth in the chin area to plug the hole, which absorbs the sound leak. I suspect that moving the beltbox further down the face and stuffing in a cloth will solve a large portion of the complaints against the beltbox, particularly the ones addressing chinsize and the ability to move the mouth. A chemical smell will start to form in this mask if you keep it in a closed container or leave the beltbox in its full intact state overnight. To deal with the smell, its best to separate the black rubber and the red foam sections when not in use. This mask can allow you to stick a very small microphone inside it. The mike will touch your lips on occasion but this can be a way to talk to people online late at night and be less annoying to anyone in the vicinity. But once again I must emphasize that this is a dampener, not a silencer. People can still hear you, even if they can't make out what you are saying. Other than that, this product works fine. I'm not quite certain if it was worth the full price but get it on sale and save your neighbors a bit of a headache.

Does what it says!
Yk it looks really silly, but i think this is my favorite thing EVER. Obviously it doesn't cancel out all sound, but it does muffle it pretty well! Its also flexible material so you kind of have to squish it around your face - I can tell its going to be easy to over sing though but that will take time. -I will say the one thing i dont like is the plastic-y smell even after i washed it. so hopefully that goes away over time

good for amatuers, not so much for professionals
good for amatuers wanting to stretch some vocal chords and trying not to piss off neighbors. good concept, well manufactired, however, very difficult to breathe (may be a plus if you want added lung conditioning. i stuffed two steel straws in the sides for a little more airflow). also, its very tiny. i have a small face and trying to open my jaw more than 0.5" to really belt one out (which is the point, right?) just pulled the mask so far down my nose it completely cuts off any nasal capacity as well as very uncomfortable. also the strap needs to be macgyvered with extra elastic straps if u want to wear it hands free. as for its claim that theres no effect on intonation, lie. its very much like screaming into a pillow. but as just an amatuer rock singer who just needed to work on simple power notes without feeling silly and getting neighbors pissed, it definately worked for that. great for a quick vocal stretch right before hitting the stage. wish it had more room for jaw movement tho...

Perfect for Practicing!
Our kiddo is a burgeoning Theater Kid, and has recently found their "belt" (appropriately, with instruction ... just sayin'). We have an old, small house with too many people for our thin walls, and this magical device has given them the confidence to practice to their heart's delight without worrying about others hearing or being disturbed by their vocal gymnastics ... not that I mind - I love it all! When they really want to let loose, they go in the garage, weather-permitting, so this is a nice solution for colder climes. I would highly recommend this product, even though the price may seem a bit steep. It is well made, and absolutely works as expected.

Arrived dirty and useless - returning
As other reviews indicate, you may receive a used or damaged item (probably because of how many get returned). Mine arrived with two punctures to the foam and a strange reside throughout the inner lining. I cleaned it and gave it a go, but it does almost nothing to reduce volume, and that’s after repeated adjustments to get it to sit properly on my face - I’ve had better results singing into a pillow. Sending it back once I sanitize it, since it will clearly be sent to another customer…

I was hesitant because of other comments, but I was pleasantly surprised
Okay, so I've had beltbox for about 2 months now. The main reason I decided to get one, is because I like to practice for hours and hours and neighbours weren't too happy about it. I haven't received a single complaint since I've been using Beltbox, so it's deffinitely doing what I needed it to do. Now some positives and negatives about it: - Negatives: firstly, if you get it and start using it, there is a very high chance you will be oversinging because you won't be able to hear your voice like you're used to. I am relatively experienced singer and I thought I'm aware enough to not oversing but the first few times I was indeed feeling tired and oversung in it even only doing warmup excercises. Nothing to worry about however, since only after few uses I adjusted my singing levels and got used to it, so I never oversung again. Second negative, it is very hard to breathe with it on. If you're just singing warmup excercises you'll probably be fine as you can just take slightly more time between scales to take breath, but if you're singing songs you'll probably have to be taking it off and putting it on again everytime you wanna breathe in. Positives: Well it does exactly what it says it does and it does it extremely well for me! It significantly lowers the volume of your voice, so if you for example have neighbours who are unhappy with your singing volume, chances are they won't be anymore, if you're using beltbox. Another positive is if you like many others, are shy to sing and you know you're holding back because of it, this introduces tension in various places in your body. Using beltbox helps you get over that shyness, and release your voice freely. I see a lot of people talking about cleaning it and such, well I gotta say I haven't cleaned it so far, so I can't say for sure exactly how water resistant it is, but I haven't had the need to clean it anyway. 2 months of use and it's in perfect shape just like I first got it. Final comments: Yes, I'm very happy with the product, there are certain downsides, but nothing you can't work your way around!

finalmente canto a qualunque ora

Awesome item! It has helped me immensely.
Awesome item! It has helped me immensely as a musician. It has allowed me to practise in was I couldn't have otherwise, aside from pushing my vocal strength much more than without.
