It's fun, spooky, witchy, and smuty in a rough sex and dom type of way.The sex positive in me says: the boundaries and safe word placing and subtle reminder when switching between sex types/situations is just *chef's kiss*The witch in me says: yooo no one needed accurate details, but I respect that she left out the keys so even recreated it's safe. Way to think of others safety queen 💜💜💜The reader in me says: phenomenal story line and plot. Some writing mechanics feel awkward but as you read it evens out to the authors tone and voice. It works and makes me excited for what she writes next.

This book is so good I couldn’t put it down. If you like dark romances this will be your cup of tea. The book came quickly and in good condition. The story line was perfect and chefs kiss on the spice

This is another book that I discovered on Tiktok and I fell in love with this book so fast.Harley's writing style sucked me in from page 1. I couldn't get enough of Rae & Leon!Rae returns to her childhood town of Abeleum, a place that seems to be cloaked in mystery and -- almost right away, you're hit with this -- death. That doesn't mean she's going to shy away about it, either. No, she's going to go straight to the possible sources with the hope of catching something on camera. Because Rae is fascinated with the paranormal world and Abeleum seems to be stuffed FULL with the promise of that.Leon is a tormented man who really only wants one thing: his freedom. He is under the thumb of a family that has kept him enslaved for decades, to serve them in any way they see fit. It's not a surprise when his path crosses with Rae's, but he quickly finds himself fascinated with her. That fascination threatens to grow into something bigger.It was intense to watch their relationship grow, with one eager to tease and torment while the other was in utter denial. All while the danger continued to grow around them. Because there is something old and dangerous hidden within Abeleum.There were tons of steamy moments that had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Not to mention the moments where my characters were in a complete uproar because we couldn't stop the chaos that was happening. I ate all those up to the point where I finished the book within 3 days. I had to immediately order the rest of the trilogy, with plans to dive into Harley's other books. It is AMAZING and I couldn't get enough of book 1! HARDCORE recommend!

I was expecting to love this but it turned out to be okay.I liked the plot, world and the MMC. I thought the plot was really interesting and set up an exciting story. I think the world was also cool and I liked the legendary ghost story of the town. I liked how it tied in with everything.Leon was a good main character. He was intriguing and I wanted to know more about him. I thought he was funny and smart.I did not enjoy how the plot was executed or the FMC. I think because the other two books in this series take place at the same time as this book, this one suffered for it. All the cool things were happening off page (most likely because they happen in books 2 & 3). I felt there was a lot of jumping around and not enough build up to major events. Plus I found Rae to be annoying. She kept repeating how she had no self preservation. I’m not sure if this was to make her endearing to the reader but it just annoyed me.On that note, I also was not a fan of the romance. I did not feel the love between Leon and Rae. It was insta lust and never evolved beyond that. I did not believe these two were in love by the end.The steamy scenes were good though. I liked the bar alleyway and graveyard scenes the best.Overall I think this book suffers for being the first in an interconnected series. I’ve heard the other books are better, especially book two. Okay I’m not usually a dark romance girly but I ate this book up !! It has the perfect balance between plot and spice which I really appreciate. At times I even got spooked , making this feel like the perfect book to read during October. It almost played out like a horror movie in my head, just with a lot of spice which made it really fun! There’s gods, demons, witches, paranormal creatures, I could not put the book down at all. It’s fantasy and dark romance all in one, LOVE.

4⭐️3.5🌶While I did enjoy this book the FMC Raelynn was annoying and I found myself literally yelling at her (like she could hear me) but then the ending (I won't give anything away) tied it together and I understand her stupidity a little better. Our demon Leon was everything from the moment we meet him at the campus to the vet end you just love him more amd more as the story goes on.This was a great book, the writing, the story, the spice when it finally happened. So it takes close to half the book for the spice to start but once it did 🥵🥵🥵 wow I felt like it didn't stop until the end when things got serious then we didn't get anymore spicy scenes. There is a cult who does human sacr1f1c3s and the last sacrifice they need is Rae. Well, our Leon won't let that happen, and even though she won't give him her soul, he still protects her While this story was gripping, I didn't find myself eager to keep reading like it wasn't a book I couldn't not put down. But I am excited to read the other 2 books because I want to know more about juniper and Zane and Everly the witch and callum. Especially Everly.

I am currently halfway through the book and I am FLOORED. This isn’t just a smut there’s a deep story line within that feel like your on a roller coaster, but never gets too slow to where you get bored. I am beyond hooked to this book. The details invite all of your senses to be part of the journey. The only negative thing I have to say is I’ve only had this book for maybe 2 days and it is falling apart. I’m going to YouTube a way to re glue the pages to the spine that won’t ruin the book. Other than that this book is a 10/10 and I’d highly recommend it as long as your not sensitive to dominant role play, BDSM ,or satanic rituals :) I have extremely high hopes for the rest of the trilogy and am so excited to get them later on!!

This book was so well written, with an amazing storyline and very spicy scenes! Absolutely loved it, can’t wait to read the next book in the series

Sehr unterhaltsam, mit Humor, spice und Action.Die Geschichte hat einen spannenden Plot, das dazu einlädt mehr erfahren zu wollen. Dies Mischung aus Sekte, mystische Geschichte und der heutigen Zeit macht für mich den Reiz aus.Die Charaktere haben es in sich. Man bekommt jetzt schon kleine Einblicke in die nächsten zwei Bücher der Reihe.
