ZurnWilkins RK1-350BOF Blow-Out, Flush Fitting, O-Rings Lawn and Garden Repair Kit, 1"

Bought this as it was mentioned/recommended in Zurn YouTube videos for my 350XL back flow preventer. After ordering, saw a couple videos where people winterized their sprinkler system without this attachment. I will use this attachment until when and or if it fails. This Zurn Blow-Out attachment is good quality plastic, but plastic never-the-less. Use PVC (plastic) pipe fittings/adapters to attach your compressor hose fittings to protect the threads. Keep the O-rings lubricated (small packet grease included). In short, baby it.

First time living in a cold climate that needed to have the sprinkler system blown out. I have an air compressor and figured I could do this myself and save $60-70 for someone else to come out and do it. The backflow valve was installed with the this inserting on the left side rather than from the top. It was a little awkward getting in. I went to Home Depot to get the fittings to build a connection to the air compressor. I have a ball valve next to the male adapter so I can close it off to allow the compressor to recharge between each zone. Total time was probably an hour to get all the zones cleaned out. I'll see how things went in the spring when I need to turn everything back on. So far so good.

Fits perfect inside of my valve, but the plastic is cheap, it broke installing the air blow out connection, had to epoxy it to make it air tight.

RECEIVED RK1-375BOF NOT RK1-350BOF ORDEREDOrdered Wilkins part number RK1-350BOF described as 1" WILKINS 350 BLOW OUT FLUSH REPAIR KIT. Received what appears to be Wilkins RK1-375BOF. Only noticed the discrepancy when I went to install the blow out fitting and it did not fit. The return window had passed, so it took me 20 minutes of pressing amazon customer service on the phone to return the item - an unneeded hassle. Now freezing weather is coming and I need to wait for the correct fitting (not ordered on Amazon) to blow out my irrigation system. Was this an systemic error? Will you get the wrong part too? I don't know. I suggest not ordering from this source if you are in a hurry and checking the part is correct soon after you receive it.

Saves the space for a another fitting just to blow-out irrigation lines for winter.Double check cartridge removes with just four bolts, blow-out fitting is inserted and held in with same four bolts and can be left in for off season.You will need to purchase bushings and air fitting adapters to complete the ability to use this device, these can be purchased at hardware stores , you may have to go to an automotive store to get the air fittings.
