Sound of a Miracle: The Inspiring True Story of a Mother's Fight to Free Her Child from Autism

This book was so tough to read sometimes but I especially liked the part when her daughter was able to express her thoughts when she was younger. I just bought Hearing Equals Behavior to understand the science behind AIT before pursuing it since it requires a time commitment and is expensive. I feel comfortable reading science based involving therapies but I also enjoy reading real stories on how the therapies affected the families. I appreciate the author being so honest about her experiences both positive and negative because it better prepares the reader of what to expect. What really irked me was the professionals' response to her daughter's progress because they were wrong. I've run into this as well and now I am able to recognize which professional's truly have the child's best interests at heart and those whose pride/image of themselves dictate their efforts.

Annabel is such a good writer, drew me into her story right away!
