This book is great. I purchased this for a 9 year old rock lover but it even has Sea shells. The pictures ae great and on good quality paper. This book will be a treasure for a long time. for the quality of the print, subject matter and size of book, the price is good. Full of descriptive information.

Really interesting an informative.

Great visual book. Good for the people that aren't nerdy, in-depth readers. The visuals will keep the reader hooked with enough reading that's concise and easy to digest. I like giving this book to people that are curious about rocks and minerals.

This is a beautifully illustrated book and has lots of interesting information about rocks, minerals, fossils, and shells! I gave the book to my grandson for his birthday and I hope it will build his interest in rocks. I loved reading it and may order another copy for myself!

This book is absolutely amazing. This is coming from a mom that owns HUNDREDS of children books ranging from baby through those "young adult" books that grown ups are loving. We have a lot of educational books on various subjects. My kids are really into rocks these days so for Christmas I added this & another book that looked promising to our 'library.' Both books are incredible. They arrived looking brand new (which was a miracle after how the box itself looked). Both books were clearly made very well. Absolutely a high quality product! The pictures are filled with pictures & offer a perfect reading aide. And the reading material is wonderful. The books are formated so well that my first grade spent a whole hour looking through them both (we are lucky if we get five minutes usually) after he had already been through them several times. I would recommend this book to anyone who is considering it.

Love the informative, short text, easy to understand information it has in it!

All the books by this author use BCE/CE which is confusing for a child who has already learned the original wording. Doesn't keep my child's interest as much as I thought it might. The cover is a lot more appealing then the text. But I also like gemstones in general so maybe I'm biased. It's not terribly captivating even as an adult but I will still keep it for science reference.
