Where can I purchase a trigger switch for this unit?

Thanks for contacting us. Currently, we do not have the trigger with this media player for sale, but we will design 2 triggers, button trigger and motion sensor trigger. It will take about 1-2 months, and we will have it up on our official website by then. If you need to use this feature now, you can refer to the user manual, which tells you how to DIY one. Can this be used to send a slideshow of static images to a pc monitor?

This media player outputs video signal through HDMI or A/V interface, if your computer monitor has the corresponding video input interface, you can use this product to play pictures on your monitor.
