I based my purchase on two replies I received from other customers who said the male end prongs were identical in size, which is what I needed. These are polarized and have one prong larger than the other. I have a device that has a female end with openings (small) identical in size which is used for Christmas lights. The new Christmas lights are polarized, so they won't work in the device I have. If you are purchasing for a similar reason, these will NOT work.
