I'm happy that I bought this short restraint. Most are so long that your dog can climb into your lap. This one works well with my miniature dachshund. It gives him enough lead to lie down, sit up, and turn around and adjust himself comfortably. I know that a crash tested (very expensive) kennel that is securely attached in the back seat is the safest way to travel with a dog, but I live in Florida and it is usually so hot for a kennel that my dachshund pants even with the air-conditioning blowing hard, so in the summer, this restraint will be cooler for him. I turn the air bag to OFF because he rides up front, passenger side. I think that it is important to use a very good, secure harness with this restraint. I use a No Choke harness by Noodle and Friends and am also buying a Hold a Dog by Dachshund Delights. Never use a collar for any vehicle restraint!

This one finally worked! We tried so many different types, but this on finally keeps put dog secure in the car!

It was very easy to use

I normally use the Sleepypod ClickIt seat belt however my two pups are under the weight limit to use those. I have been looking for different options to ensure my pups are safe on the road. I was happy to find these and so far they have been great. Pups are safe and secure while still being comfy. Note: these need to be used with a good harness. I've seen some people put these on collars. A collar will choke and/or kill your pet. The goal is that if you are in an accident and the seat belt gets activated (aka pulling the pet back) that that pressure goes to their chest or gets spread out. You do not want that force on the neck.
