disappointed
Easy play music but parts of songs are missing, so don't expect full score.

*** Pros***Huge print. Did I mention H U G E !?As E-Z as it gets for a total beginner. The book tells you which rhythm button to push on your keyboard, such as : country or shuffle, balad, Fox-Trot....It also tells you which instrument "registration" button to press. A Registration Guide is in the back of the book. Each number stands for an instrument. Such as: 3= violin, strings. Each song is preceded with a registration number.Useful for EASY keyboard/piano, guitar and vocals (as it has lyrics).24 "songs":1. Back In Baby's Arms2. Blue Moon Of Kentucky3. Crazy4. Faded Love5. Foolin' Round6. Have You Ever Been Lonely?7. Heartaches8. I Fall To Pieces9. Leavin' On Your Mind10. Loose Talk11. San Antonio Rose12. Seven Lonely Days13. She's Got You14. So Wrong15. Strange16. Sweet Dreams (Of You)17. There He Goes18. Three Cigarettes In An Ashtray19. Walking After Midnight20. Wayward Wind21. When I Get Through Wioth You22. Why Can't He Be You23. You're Stronger Than Me24. Your Cheatin' Heart*** Cons***Too simplified? All songs are in the key of C. Most are 4/4, a few in 3/4.It doesn't give you the bass cleff staff. You'll have to make do with a few simple major, minor and 7th chords for the left hand (or bass guitar).***Verdict***This book is geared toward the absolute beginner with poor eyesight and.... a love for "old" music, as my kids like to point out to me. Grrr! You see, we old folks don't even have to turn on all registers in our own faculties anymore. We just press a few buttons on the keyboard. Voila! With such HUGE print, we can also fake it that we see 20/20 again without squinting and without glasses. At least it'll compensate for the "old" music we play. ;-)

Best books for Seniors learning to play music for the first time
This series of EZ Play Today books are absolutely perfect for the Senior with no musical background who has taken up the hobby of learning to play the keyboard. While many reviewers of this series give poor grades, I wish they would stop for a moment and consider the facts. First - the size of the notes - so easy on the eyes of the elderly. Second - the note letter printed in the note - helps those who are newbies to notation play the song with immediate gratification. Third - there is more than just the melody - the left hand is busy playing the chords that are printed above the staff which is perfect for the split keyboard fingering method. And lastly - the musical notation may be simplified but the rhythm feature of the keyboard fills that void nicely. I am 70 years old and I never had the privilege of music lessons as a child. I own too many of these books to mention here (in case my husband reads this) and I enjoy playing my favorite songs everyday. I love these books!
