I found this one in the list but I cant find where is does masticating anywhere ?** A: The best juicer is the one you'll ACTUALLY use. Juicing MYTH #1 Make the BEST juice. Asking which one makes the "BEST" juice is a irrelevant question. I ended up with the Juice Fountain Elite because it makes good (enough) juice and FAST!!! My wife and I both work and morning time is at a premium. Any juice is better than no juice because you didn't have time to make the juice. This juicer is FAST. Granted, I've been juicing for >5 years now, but my time from picking up the first carrot to clean to putting away the last cleaned part of the juicer is 30min by myself and 17min with my wife. Remember, ANY fresh juice is better than no juice. My wife and I drink 1 liter of fresh juice each day. I don't pre-make juice as I feel it oxidzes and it doesn't taste fresh. Juicing MYTH #2 You DON'T drink fresh juice because it tastes good. You drink it because is REALLY good for you! So stop whining about the taste. BTW, beet greens taste way better than kale and have more nutrition. Juicing MYTH #3 You don't need all kinds of crazy stuff in your juice. You need a good balance of colors. You need quality ingredients that you can afford. Just for fun, here's my recipe: 4 carrots, 1 Granny Smith, 1 bunch of red beets WITH the greens, 1 bunch of cilantro, 1 lemon, ginger (thumb-sized). Hint: when you first start go easy on the hot stuff like ginger and garlic. Just my story............go make your own, but I recommend it include juicing! **Q: I would like to get the most juice possible from my fruits and vegetables. Which Breville model is best?** A: I have owned two other centrifugal juicers and an Omega 8006 masticating juicer. I loved my Omega, but I do a lot of juicing. I had upgraded the barrel and auger to the heavy duty one. When the end cap broke recently, I decided I was ready for something more durable. I got the Breville 800JEXL. Best decision I have made regarding juicers ever. I seriously got nearly twice the juice from it, and the pulp is so much drier. I juice a 6 pound bag of carrots every day, so I know the quantity of carrots going in is the same. I used to get just a smidge over a quart of juice from my Omega. Now I get just under 2 quarts from the same 6 pound bag of carrots- consistently every time. One day I was in a rush so I kind of pushed the carrots through faster and noticed more moisture in the pulp and a little less juice. Not rushing is key to max juice extraction. The centrifugal juicer is so much faster than the masticating one anyway that it still saves time. Centrifugal juicers can be noisier than masticating ones, but this one is not bad at all- much to my surprise. The juice temp may rise a teeny bit, indicating possible nutrient loss, but I would say it is about the same as the masticating juicer. For me, I wanted max juice, easy cleanup, and not taking forever to do. This met all my needs and I am much happier with the results compared to my Omega 8006. If you can pay several thousand $$$ then you can get a high quality masticating juicer, but they are still fairly slow. For the money, this one is great. **Q: What happens is you run kale pulp thru a second time?** A: When I ran the pulp through, the juice was too strong for me. I use just a small amount of kale in my juice because it is so strong. I use 1 or 2 red beets and the leaves, which are a great source of nutrients. I also like fresh turnip greens along with various types of lettuce and parsley. I like to experiment with the juices. I do not juice citrus rinds nor tough stalks like kale has. I usually add a few granny Smith Apple's, a couple of grapefruit and a couple of oranges to taste. I juice every other day. Have fun! **Q: Why buy the 800JEXL and pay 3 times as much as I would for the BJE200XL?!** A: The 800JEXL looks and sounds like it means business. When you see it you think, (in a overly macho tone) 'Yeah ... this thing juices'. The BJE200XL on the other hand, while I'm sure it works well for $100, looks more a toy with it's circular window and cleanup sounds like it's a real PITA.
