Looks a very good item, i had to return it cause no powerful enough for my European appliance and buy a 3000.

So stoked it works perfectly and without any hassles. Will update in the future after long-term usage. Beware the weight.... as it will quadruple your shipping cost South Africans! It is flippen sturdy though.

Absolutely simple and perfect. I only wish I had gotten one with a higher electrical capacity. I did get 2 1000 watts though so i'm covered for most of my daily needs. If you are trying to decide which step-up step-down tranformer to get I promise you won't be disappointed in this brand...

It broke after two years of use. It has a short service life and average quality.

Bought for my UK amp, living in the states. The amp only pulls 250W, so i made sure to size way up. Ive heard you want an amp that is rated for least double the wattage of your use case if you want to use one of these cheap ones.

Received the product in a banged up, cheap box. Packing tape was used to seal the flaps but the tape on the top of the box was broken on all seams. The UPS mailing sticker kept the box closed. If you notice in the photo, the cover extends slightly more than the sides. Three of the "wings" were bent in, likely due to the poor packaging. The unit itself is not branded (no where is it marked ELC). It is labelled ST-5000T. I presume the "5000" means 5000 watts. I ordered the 1000W version. Not really sure what I received, though. I planned to use the unit with a stereo amplifier but it hums when turned "on" so am turned off by this. Tried using it at my home in the US (120V) by stepping up to 240V and then using a step down transformer with the stereo amp and it appears to work. Haven't tried it with a 240V outlet yet. Based on all of this, I returned it.
