could somebody please tell me how to install the batteries? or my item is damage?

The description says batteries are NOT required. Which is it??

The entire magnifier is about 9.75 inches. The lens is about 6.25 inches long and about 1 inch wide.

How do I turn on the light?

Please note that the LED lighting in the MagniLine magnifier is touch activated. Please make sure to hold your fingers in both finger grooves simutaneously in order for the LED lights to turn on. Please contact Carson's customer service department and we will be glad to assist you further.
