PLENTY OF POWER!
I used the P1000X5 in a 2000 Trans/Am WS6 convertible to replace the 8 channel monsoon amp. The car has four 2 ohm woofers which sound like they have a midrange speaker and also 4 tweeters Used the high pass on all that and put some bass blockers on the tweeters for now. Customer had a box with 2 12's but it sounded horrible. I had a new dual 4 ohm voice coil Bazooka 12 laying around so I put that in to get it going so the sub channel is seeing a two ohm load as well. Customer is VERY happy. The car hit a peak 120 DB with the clip light occasionally blinking only on the sub output. The front and rear channels are turned down and make the factory speakers sound great. Even with the top down the car still has a lot of bass. The amp does get warm but I don't think it would shut down unless you were playing the unit very loud for a long time. It never got extremely hot however even though I was running it at high volume for awhile checking it out. In the real world clean sound above 85 db is very loud and this amp will pull that off with ease with ZERO strain or effort. For extra free cooling, raising the amp bottom an inch from the mounting surface makes them run cooler. I did that with an old school Zeus series 7 that does run hot. Anyway, everyone was very impressed with the sound..Will be putting a Rockford P3 12 in the Bazooka Tube as soon as he blows the Bazooka 12.. Both the P2 and 3 sound ALOT better than the Bazooka 12 and with the P3 you don't have to worry about people blowing the woofer. I have a Trans/Am coupe and will be putting one of these in it soon. The old Zeus series 7 dims the lights WAY too much..can't play it very low at all at night with out people flashing lights back at me. The Zeus is only running on JL 10 W6 DV.. The rockford 1000 does not use anywhere near the amperage.ZERO engine noise with the Pioneer head unit and center point grounding.

I'm confident in saying that this is the best amp on the market for the price
I'm confident in saying that this is the best amp on the market for the price. I got a smoking deal on it (I paid about 360 USD with free Prime shipping) and I couldn't be happier. I'm running JL ZR100-CT tweeters in the dash, Alpine type R 6x9s in the the front doors, Alpine type R 6.5s in the rear doors and JL CS212-WXv2 subs in the cargo area of my Jeep Grand Cherokee and it has more than enough (clean!) power to run this whole set up. When properly set up with the filters sending the appropriate frequencies where they belong, my car sounds absolutely fantastic. Don't skimp on your power, you can have the best speakers around and with a crap amp, you'll be doing yourself a massive disservice. I love the removable cover that lets you get to all of the controls, yet hides them away for a sleek/sexy look. I had to mount this behind the rear passenger seat, but it looks neat and tidy and like it belongs there. I've had this amp since December and haven't had any performance issues whatsoever. I highly recommend using the RF 4g mounting kit along with this amp and get some nice, thick (12g), OFC speaker wire. This amp is designed for exactly the type of setup that I have described. If you're just a bass head who wants the most thundering, block shaking power, then this isn't the one for you. You're probably going to want at least 1000 watts just for your subs. I wanted a system with nice, clean bass (strong enough to be felt in the vehicle, but not vibrating every house down the block) and crisp, clear sound throughout the vehicle. This amp provided the perfect solution for my needs.

Justifiably Expensive
UPDATE: 2 years later and this amp is still going strong. I live near the coast in South Carolina. It gets extremely hot here and I don’t have any type of air circulation going to this amp but it hasn’t caused me a single problem. Worth every single penny! This amp, when ran with a 1 ohm subwoofer, will easily exceed its rated output by 400 watts. I have a ported P3 12 in a Rockford enclosure prewired to 1 ohm as my sub that’s easily getting 700 watts. Inside the car is 2 power 1 inch tweeters, 2 power 6.5s in the front doors, and 2 power 3 way 6x9’s in the rear. I can’t listen to the volume at 3/4th without blowing the ears apart. There’s two big things I want to point out as huge positives for me. The front, rear, and sub channel all each have a light indicator for when you’re reaching the peak output on your gain setting. My current set up is 70hz front high pass, 60 hzs to the rear high pass, and 80hz low pass to the P3. It really allows you to get absolutely every watt possible out of each channel. My 2nd positive is the current draw. I have all of this in a 2004 Corolla with a standard battery and alternator. I don’t experience any light dimming, any shut offs, or really any indicator at all that there is a strain on the car, driving or parked. Rockford Fosgate continues to prove to me that their products are superior. When I crank it all the way up, I can’t hear the wind coming in the windows going 70. I HIGHLY recommend this amplifier. The 12’ Punch P3 hits like a 15’ with twice its magnet size. 5 stars.

This AMP rocks! EASILY pushes (3) JL Subs, (4) 6.5mids and (2) 6x9s.
This amp kicks SOOOOOO much butt! I have it hooked to (3) 10" JL Marine Subs, (4) 6.5mids and (2) 6x9s on my boat. The amp sits inside the center console. Very flexible amp. Super clear. Super loud! I think I've had it over a year now in a small cabinet in the hot Florida sun, with 100% humidity, and sitting a few feet away from salt water every day, and it's still crankin' strong!LOVE IT!P.S. I had the separate bass control. It took away from the sound, even at full volume, it sucked a slight bit of the sound quality away. Unplugged the separate bass knob I purchased and let this amp just rock out. And now I use an Alpine head unit with parametric EQ and I can get any great sound I want. And I rarely turn the bass down... Why would you? Now I just turn down the entire volume level. Bass is fine at almost all volumes except extremely low, then I just turn down the bass on my head unit. BTW, I mostly listen to HARD ROCK and RAP. I'm a critical listener, ex-guitar teacher and have high-end home audio equipment. This amp is awesome.

Finally found an amp that can effectively power my entire system.
Powering 2-10" JL subs and 4 - 5x7" speakers in my F150. The setup is super easy with the clip indicators and really allows you to control the proper levels to avoid distortion. Power wise my birth sheet rates the amp much higher then the listed wattage. Actual watts are well over 100 for the 4 main channels and the sub channel is around 800 watts at 1 ohm (500 for 2 ohms). Sound is clean all the way up to higher power levels, really powers an entire system with clean deep sound. I have tried other 5 channel amps and this is the most powerful and clean sounding one yet. You can reach levels that will really hurt your ears so don't worry about not having a dedicated sub amp, this one pounds my 10w0s hard. No regrets.
