Barron's Math 360: A Complete Study Guide to Pre-Calculus with Online Practice (Barron's Test Prep)

I bought Barron's Math 360: Pre-Calculus for my daughter as she was getting ready for her upcoming semester, and it has been an amazing support tool. The book is very well-organized, with clear explanations that help break down complex concepts into something much more understandable — even for someone who doesn’t naturally love math.What I really appreciated is that it’s not just full of theory — it offers plenty of practice problems with step-by-step solutions, which helped her gain confidence and truly grasp the material. She told me it felt like having a patient tutor at home.If you have a high school or early college student who’s struggling with pre-calculus or just wants extra help, I highly recommend this book. It’s affordable, thorough, and easy to follow. Totally worth it!

Was asked to teach Pre-Calc mid year to a high school student. This book allowed me to pick which lessons and their order to teach with many helpful examples and exercises for student.

I am a math tutor and I chose this book because it was cheap and I needed a book to tutor a student through precalc to prep for calculus. This is not a good book to teach from for younger students. The book is not very visual and difficult to understand. As an adult, I can understand the book, but I also have a BS in math. I have also found several errors/typos throughout the book. Seems to be poorly made. Another thing I dislike about this book is that it states “online practice”, but the said online practice is simply a one-time final exam for the whole book…not very useful if you would like to practice along the way.Tutoring with this book has forced me to search out several online resources to supplement my lessons. It’s a cheap option though, and if you’re an adult looking to brush up on your skills, then by all means. But even as an adult, this option would not be my favorite. You’re probably better off using some online curriculum.

I decided to go back to college for a science degree two decades after I took my last math class. I needed some serious prep work to be ready for Calculus so I ordered this book and worked through it the Summer before I started classes. It was a great choice! The book is easy to use, has plenty of problems, and comes in chunks that are easy to manage. It's especially useful for trigonometry. If you want to prepare for Calculus, or just stay sharp with your Trig, then this is the book for you!
