Same as sheetrock screws, not hinge screws
These are advertised as hinge screws, yet they are the exact same size as sheetrock screws. The door hinge screws I took out are a couple of sizes bigger than these. Fifteen bucks for twenty-four screws? That’s nuts as well.

Super High Grade Steel Screws
These screws are expensive but worth it. The product picture does not do this justice. They are made out of a much higher grade steel then your average screw. These really shined during my 9 interior door replacement. Highly recommend for a DYI project as you only need a few per door.

Great
These Hinge Outlet Black Wood Screws 9 X 3 Inch for Residential Door Hinges - 24 Pack are really long and strong. I'm not used to such large screws but I know they will hold well and that is why we ordered them! I did take one star off for the paint chipping on the head of the screw. Perhaps if I could stay in the slots better, that wouldn't happen, but it did. Otherwise, I highly recommend them.

The residential door hinge screws that every home renovator needs.
I have a beautiful house that was built over 70 years ago and I have kept the original interior and exterior design as much as possible. My significant other has been after me to replace some of the interior doors with more modern pre-hung doors because the hinge screws used with those old door hinges keep coming loose. With age, the Jack Studs have dried out and the holes just didn’t hold the screws tight anymore. Well, I was dragging my feet because I loved the looks of those old doors, so when these screws arrived I decided to give it one more shot at keeping my old, hand-crafted door. I removed the doors and filled the screw hole with wood filler. When the filler was thoroughly dried, I replaced the door hinges using these 3 inch screws. They were at least ¾ of an inch longer than the old ones, so they penetrated new wood. Problem solved. I not only got to keep my beautiful old doors but saved over $1000 that all the new pre-hung doors would have cost me. Would I pay $14.95 for 24 of these screws? You bet I would. The black heads was a nice touch too because it matched the old, black iron hinges.

All Black
Nice Screws. Can recommend. The picture on Amazon shows that they have black heads and silver where the threads are. Nope. All Black...at least mine were.

3-Inch Black-headed Screws
I recently built a new mailbox stand for myself and 2 neighbors. I built it with 4 x 4 posts and crossbeam, with black metal brackets and endcaps. Those items came with short black screws, but I wanted to overbuild the strength, so I got these 3-inch screws. I like that they have black heads, so they matched the metalwork. They were easy to install and I used all of them on my project. One small issue: even though I drilled guide holes, a few screws bound up in the wood, and I was using an electric drill. I did chip the black paint a little on a couple of them, but that's not too big a deal.

Nice to find a black set of long hinge screws
Always found it odd that local box and hardware stores in my location never carry longer BLACK hinge and door screws. We had given up on our search for reasonably priced black screws when we updated all of our door hardware recently and ended up going with some dark oil-rubbed bronze screws. Always helpful to have the long screws to more firmly hold things in place on the door frame. We always try to replace the standard 1 1/2" screws that are so common with 3" screws in at least one spot on every hinge. The finish on these held up for us as we screwed some of them in. Some of the prior black screws we actually located had a poor finish which flaked off when they were installed.Completely met our expectations.

Great LONG hinge screws
Sometimes the best way to fix or secure a door is to fix the hinges, or the screws in the hinges. These will do the trick for most doors set in wood frames. They are 3" long & high quality #9 strong screws that will hold that door securely.Very well made 24 pack of black hinge screws here.Five stars.
