Draper250mm Pair of Coil Spring Compressors - 14173

I already had 2 sets of spring clamps which enabled me to remove my suspension spring, but I couldn't get it back on the car for the life of me, so after a lot of head scratching I purchased this one and it totally saved my ass, being small enough to just about fit in the wheel well with the spring. They're easy to use and somehow felt a lot more secure clamping my mondeo springs than my other 2 sets which are the double claw type.In short, get them. Also from past experience it's a good idea to put a thin film of copper grease on the screws to reduce the wear.

Good strong compressors with a fast action. No sign of bending under load. The only minor issue I have had with these is that the hook knuckles are quite chunky and need positioning carefully so that removal at the end of the job isn't too awkward.

I already have a set of spring compressors but they were too big to fit in the arch to compress the springs. I bought these and they are perfect

Wasted money, Amazon has pictured a product with opposite screw threads and the product on the 14173 code is a single direction thread and will not fit the application I intended

I ordered the coil spring compressors on Saturday and they arrived on Sunday! I needed to use these on a Mazda MX5 which is fitted with coilover suspension. The springs are quite small (8 cm diameter) and I really struggle to use these as they were really just too big to slot into the spring safely with the damper still in place. If you are using these on a normal size spring I think they would be excellent – the fact that both sides compress/expand means you don't have a large screw thread coming out which makes them far more useful if you need to compress the spring whilst it still fitted into the car. Unfortunately from my use these are not suitable but I think for a standard spring setup they would be ideal
