Polaris Installation KIT SOFTUBE Quick Connects R0617100

I used this kit to replace the very old outlet hose on my Polaris pool sweep booster pump. My old hose was worn out and leaking at both couplers. This new hose was easy to install. I followed the directions, and used 5 wraps of Teflon tape on the threaded end of the connectors. I left about a 1/8" gap when tightening the connectors down. I didn't need to heat the hose to get it onto the barbed fitting. Just some force and a little twisting was all that was needed. I tightened the quick connect nut only until I could hear the hose compressing. There were no leaks at first turn-on and after an hour of run time. The barbed end of these new connectors is a big improvement over the old ones. Also, the threaded end is slightly tapered, which makes it easier to install.

Because my polaris pump is connected to my pool's plumbing, when my original soft tube connectors broke, that also meant that I couldn't run my pool pump. I got this part in three days after placing the order on Amazon. The connectors screwed in easily and only needed a little tightening from a plumbers wrench. I stuffed at first to connect the tubing, but read that moistening the tube would make it easier, which it did. The locking bolts screwed right on and I was back in business. The kit came with 4 connectors and 6 feet of tubing, so I'll have spares in the event of another leak! One set of connectors at the pool store cost more than this entire kit, so if you can wait a few days, or are even wanting to order a spate before disaster strikes, this is definitely the way to go!

Took a couple of tries to get the fitting to stop leaking. Works fine, looks good, cost too much!

Worked great on both the suction side and the pressure side of the booster pump. No leaks. Easy to cut - I used a pvc pipe cutter to get clean straight cut. Gently warming the hose ends with a heat gun made installation a breeze.

Turns out I didn't use this because my booster pump was actually broken. But a new pump that cane with a hose kit and quick fit fittings.As such, msg me if you'd like to buy my unused hose kit with fittings.

This could not have been more easy to install. I don't know if it was already expanded from the heat of the delivery truck, but I didn't need to do anything extra to it. Literally took me 5 minutes to get my pump back up and running.

Tip. Warm heat the hose ends and lube it to make it easier slipping on the hose to the fittings.Works great.
